I would love if someone could post screenshots of the area below with DX11, High Res textures and Max settings.

Mine are just DX9 but I loved the look of that area and would love to see it with Advanced Tone Mapping etc.

You mean we shouldn't be expecting some DennisK4 C2 DX11 porn? ugh. Your DX9 shots are better than most DX11 I have seen.

I'm getting very nice performance with a GTX 570 at stock settings. Certainly not dropping into the 20's or even 30's.

And that's with everything on ultra at 1080p.

Interesting.

Performance is really, really mixed. Its playable to be sure, but the slightest thing will set off a serious drop in frames.

The previous example of shooting things up close is the most obvious one. I dont know if its the new particles or what, but it guarenties ~20 or less in an instant. Quite strange.

I thought Crytek said there was going to be a DX11 benchmark with this? If so, we should be comparing performance with that.

OC'd GTX 570

subversus

I've done nothing with my life except eat and fap
6950 reporting in again

The game suddenly started running at 30 fps

I don't know why.

I'm running an i7 930 @2.8 stock

Getting worried now :(

Edit: What is this downsampled thing you kids are talking about?

Alright, let's have him post some non-downsampled pics. See if it still looks as incredible.

The IQ added from downsampling crushes everything else imo. Which is why I'm pissed at why I cant force sgssaa in inspector anymore, RAAAAAAAAAAAGE

Exactly, SGSSAA is the realest next gen feature in my book. Reason why I ride Nvidia's dick pretty hard at the moment.

Ok, so apparently to run the benchmark tool, you need to first download oaMan. Then 'add ao application' and browse to the crysis2.exe. I can't get it to run myself as I'm getting a 'crysis2.exe' not found :/

Okay, I might have had CPU instability. Dialed back by OC to 4.0Ghz and performance seems...better.

Performance is between 30 - 60 now, averaging ~45. I still get the crazy sub-20 drop if I happen to spam round at a wall right in front of me, but otherwise performance rarely drops below 30, even in action.

Weird.

Running 2600K@4.5GHz, CF 6970, 1920X1080, Extreme, DX11 and High res textures, lowest frame rate was 82 fps during the submarine escape at the beginning of the game. Since I hate motion blur, that was the only thing I disable.

That sounds good.

Can you try with stock speeds?

well yea.

with $700 worth of current GPU tech, that should be the expectation.

Jesus, tried maxing everything out, and my GTX 460 is choking on its last breath while running this game, lulz. Sure looks purty though!

I turned "AMD Optimized" off in the Tessellation options of CCC and put it back to "use application settings" and got a nice framerate boost.

Using a 2GB 6950.

Maybe the lowest perceivable "by eye".

Anyways, knitoe did you mean extreme settings? Or did you mean ultra settings?

Going back to stock defaults and booting Windows causes my computer to go a bit dicky, as Windows thinks theres some problem and tries to force 'fixing' it, so I'll avoid dropping down sorry :p.

Still, if your hardware is in line with mine it should be playable. I could lock this at 30fps and almost never have it dip. Lowest FPS are in the most action intense outdoor areas. Interiors seem to never drop below 40fps, and are usually hovering around 50.

Quite happy with the performance now!

okay, I'm getting about 30fps with this amendment with everything on Ultra.

it dips into the mid 20s, though.

Which of these new dx11 features bring the biggest performance drop? Would be nice to now what to turn off first when tweaking performance.

I...get single digit framerates on the level with the Statue of Liberty's head. Whatever it's called. 6950 here

Turning "Object" down to Extreme from Ultra more than doubles my framerate.

Knitoe, my question got murdered by 10 1600p screenshots, but you mentioned that you were running extreme during your submarine test, did you try it with the highest settings ( ultra ) ?
