Trump takes credit for ISIS 'giving up'

Well I do remember him bragging about making a plan just in a month to get rid of ISIS, if he will be elected.

Question is, regardless of whether he did it or not, will voters see the fall of Raqqa as him holding his promise of defeating ISIS?

Whether or not he deserves it, it doesn't feel too out of place for him to get credit for it. From what I've seen most of the heavy lifting in Syria has been done by Russia though.

Urgh any time I read a quote from him with his ridiculous way of speaking I can now picture him saying it complete with his stupid hand gestures.

This can't be real; that guy surely can't have been elected as your president, it's just all so fucking bizarre!

wonder if trump knows about the significant contingent of socialists that contributed to the fight against isis in raqqa considering his current red scare rhetoric

I take some happiness that people who work with Trump probably hate him with a passion and mutter hate and laughs directed at Trump under their breath and behind his back. Trump has zero respect as Commander in Chief. He is just a moron walking the halls.

This one really pisses me off because it just spits in the faces of all the forces out in Iraq and Syria who have been battling to beat back ISIS for so long now and are finally smashing them.

Then this twat who couldn't even point out Syria on a map, let alone Raqqa, tries to fluff his pathetic ego with their hard work and sacrifice.

Honest question: Has he done anything to even suggest that? I remember hearing his speech about going there to simply wipe them out.

He didn't do shit but it is one of the few things he couldn't find a way to make worse so I guess I got nothing.

Don't forget his bold new strategy in Afghanistan - you know, the one where it sounds new so he can take credit for it but it's actually the same old shit that's been tried unsuccessfully for 17 years.

He did a lot. What are ISIS going to do to America now? Treat gay people better and give woman more rights?

Trump has really taken away their motivation.

ISIS has been steadily losing territory since late 2015.
The Trump administration has literally changed nothing about the approach the Obama administration came up with. Maybe his generals haven't told him that they just continue what Obama started? Nah, he probably just doesn't give a fuck.

Trump taking credit for Obamas work while simultaneously stating how terrible everything Obamas did was, has to be one of the most sickening things I've seen of this administration.
The dishonesty and toxic misinformation is off the charts and the fact that so many people eat it up makes it extremely dangerous.
Truly post-factual times.

So he delegated military decisions to the military rather than keeping them as responsibilities of the Commander in Chief.

Has anybody spelled out exactly what was changed in the Rules of Engagement? Or what specific authority he's delegated? And how that has played our in Syria and Iraq?

When you've got a man who spouted continuous support for war crimes including torture and collective punishment, these details matter.

Obama didn't start anything. Syrians did. In the same vein, raqqa fell to the SDF, a mostly kurdish coalition that receives support from a truckload of countries, including the US and yes, even Russia.

Why won't a journalist take him to task? Stop letting him bullshit these non answers. If he says he's the reason the Military is different. Stop the interview right there and start grilling him for a detailed answer, don't move on and don't follow the deflection or projection. Someone make a total ass out of this pos until he up and walks off the interview like he's done countless times in his life when he's caught looking stupid.
Id it happened during his presidency he's going to take credit. Doesn't matter when or how it happen

"I totally changed rules of engagement. I totally changed our military, I totally changed the attitudes of the military and they have done a fantastic job,"
Man Trump continues to show me how great it is to be a mediocre white man in this country.
Some white folks were so angry about a black president, they elected this.
