I'm trying to remember one of the most awesome visual gags from Roadrunner ... it had the Coyote with a fishing pole with a TNT at end of it. and the "fire" on the tnt would climb the fishing rope to Coyote's body and ending on his tail, that was near a box of TNT

Anyone knows what short was this ?

It amazes me how amazing this scene was animated for something back in 1937

"No, Princess. Bee cares not for flower. If getting pollen hurts or kills flower, bee would not care. Bee is stronger than flower. Goliad is stronger than bee. Goliad is stronger than all..."

Also, these two scenes from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann are some of my personal favourites, regardless of how cheesy and cliché they are (spoilers, by the way):

The animation, the atmosphere, the friggin' music, everything just seems to be in place for these scenes. The carry a lot of weight for fans of the series, and continue to amaze me through repeat viewings.

If we're excluding art animation and just picking among "cartoony" stuff, I'll say Pinocchio's Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee walking scene http://www.michaelspornanimation.com/splog/?p=2664 , Messmer's Felix Dines And Pines http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVZEqSVONrQ#t=4m19s (technically inferior, but a huge step at the time and much more my style, given the blend between newspaper comics, American cartoon animation, and art deco design), and Barker's Strange Invaders http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3IqAXhI2Eo#t=2m23s (which accurately captures the moment when parents realize what a responsibility a child is; 1 of the reasons that I hate Pixar is that undereducated critics rewarded dullness like For The Birds over brilliance like this).

Figured so lol, but still amazing in the end. Was probably extremely expensive back then to do. And it's probably my favorite scene i that film as well

Uh, no. http://blabbingonartsandculture.blogspot.com/2011/05/snow-white-mosaic-part-3.html (I only get defensive about this one because Grim Natwick is 1 of the only famous people from my hometown.)
