Please send help.

Damn, dude.

I just went with Rebecca, Othello, Barry Lyndon and Vampyr.

Might get some combination of Barry Lyndon, Cat People, Rebecca, and Valerie and Her Week of Wonders...or maybe I’ll get nothing at all idk.

DeathoftheEndless

Crashing this plane... with no survivors!
I bought Dr. Strangelove, The Devil's Backbone, and Eyes Without a Face. The latter two are upgrades of the DVD version, so I can get a decent amount back from selling those.

Le silence de la mer: French HOH
Les enfants terribles (DVD, apparently horrible): no subs
Quand tu liras cette lettre: French HOH + English
Bob le flambeur: French HOH + English
Deux hommes dans Manhattan: French HOH
Léon Morin, prêtre: French HOH + English + German
Le doulos: French HOH + English + German
Le samouraï (same blu as the previous revised one): French HOH
L'armée des ombres: French HOH + English + German
Le cercle rouge French HOH + English + German
Un flic: French HOH + English + German
24h de la vie d'un clown: French HOH + English + German

i dunno if being a holocaust denier counts a political statement, but criterion has again and again proven they have no guiding light when it comes to their canon.

I'm not sure he is a denier himself but he sure doesn't seem to mind being associated with them. That bbc interview was pretty damning.

So everything has English subs except Le silence (already on Criterion / MoC) and Les enfants? Thank you for your help!

Sorry, I can't read. Yes those too.

No problem :)

More feedback :

- Un flic is 1080i
- Les enfants terribles is apparently one ugly DVD
- 24h de la vie d'un clown's master is very very dated

At this point, I'm gonna wait for for individual releases really.

(also my asking about subtitles on your behalf has apparently allowed other English forums to get the info, so you did good :p)

Also, Network has another sale in which I don't understand how they make money.
The Lady Vanishes (Hitchock), Richard III (Oliver), Man With the Golden Arm (Preminger), and more are just £4.59 (6$!),

The Jack the Ripper miniseries ! Pretty hammy but I loved it so much as a kid.

Medusa touch is cheap as well...

Edit : The World at War blu (the new good one) is £29...
Edit : Up series (7-49) for less than £9 on DVD

This might seem out of left field, but could Stand and Deliver ever get a Criterion? I feel like it deserves it, the film was very well made and the DVD I got from the library had no supplement whatsoever. Not even a scene select, lol.

I mean, it would make chicanos happy. That and la bamba and Selena were always on tv when I was growing up. (Blood in blood out was on other channels...)

Anyone know if the Eureka! edition of Drunken Master is any good? It looks like it has the right aspect ratio and lists Cantonese as one of the languages.

It's a hell of a lot better than the Twilight Time one which doesn't have a complete Cantonese track. Also it has extras + a much better cover.

Dammit I do no need the temptation. Thank god for the shipping being borderline unreasonable so that I can more easily deny myself this.

What is this mondo "shipping" you are talking about? Is it connected to the much fabled legends of "putting something into your cart" and "paying"?

You Euro types can just order from Black Dragon. They're in the UK. That's almost Europe.
They charge £12 shipping for a single item for me, so that would bring the cost for ordering the poster to 75$. That's a touch too much.

edit: I think it might actually be cheaper for me to buy from Mondo than Black Dragon... (there wasn't a 1:1 comparison of the same poster but still)

$15 is about what it costs to ship a print within the US. Pretty average cost, unfortunately. Conversion rate might be working in your favor ordering from the US.

Edward James Olmos is in full-on badass mode.

If I see you in the street, I'll kick the SHIT out of you.

I love that it's a quintessential high school math movie, lol. Teachers always show it to their classes here.
