Because you spend too much time wrestling with the stick to be effective and fast. Just mash away on the face buttons. Unless we're doing some sort of precise cutting later on the game, I don't see how Blade Mode with the right analog stick is any useful.
It's probably been covered, but the US PSN demo, is it region locked?

Shrude.PSN EU whenever
Yea blade mode is much better once I just learn to use the face buttons, it's good enough for most things with the square at the center using the vertical slice, just slice it for the spine and move on, though I like spamming blade mode on the dog just for the hell of it, lol.

Didn't the doktor imply that I needed to specifically cut off left hands to get upgrades? Or was that just a general 'you kill dudes you get stuff'?
Another thing tho, is that im still really torn on which system to get it for. I played it on the 360 first and i play on playing it on the PS3 next. The 360's particle effects were nice but the screen tearing started to get really annoying. So just wondering if anyone else has played the demo on both systems and could give me their opinion on which system they think should get it on.
I must be behind the times or something because holy crap 3.4 gb seems like a massive size for a demo.
so,if the dog we fight in the demo is not the dog that is with raiden in the game, what is that other dog's name?
I had trouble with the stick in blade mode too, until I noticed that you have to input directions that make sense for the location of Raiden's sword. So two slashes from the same angle and direction won't work, because in real life it would take time to reposition the sword for the second slash, but you can rapidly zig-zag slashes left-right-left-right, or in any series of roughly opposed directions.played the demo twice, I love it, except using the analog for blade mode sometimes doesn't work, feels abit unreliable. And I don't really get how to make parry work. It only works sometimes, and I don't even know how.
How do I lock on to enemies?
How do I lock on to enemies?
You're not gonna get a hard mode in a demo dude.
Especially at Platinum's level
Is there a point to using lock on in this bitch? With how automated and mashy it is I don't see the point.
sup
But it wasn't "hard".
Are some attacks on the boss un-parryable? They all glow in orange but the grab-into-chainsaw and claw attack are either harder to parry or they can't be parried at all.
Also it's quite frustrating when attacks come from where you can't see 'em. Didn't pick up any sound ques either for some of them.

That was easy mode.

My only gripe is that the demo got really easy but then again I'm boss, lol.

Press the analog stick in the direction of the attacker then press square or X depending on the console that you're playing it on. I'd say LQ-84I (the boss) is the best enemy to practice it on. You're only having to deal with him and he telegraphs his attacks long enough for you to really prepare for it.

Don't ask just do it.Anyone want me to do some comparison shots for those tied between X360/PS3 purchasing.
So i swapped blade mode into left stick instead of right, may be its just me but it feels so much better. I can chop stuff way faster and more accurate now.
I get the impression that some of you are using right analog stick in Blade Mode.
Don't.

Well, no, but it did have different enemy waves than the other modes available.
Neither is this demo. MGR's parries are more broken than DmC's demon dodge.
LISTEN TO THIS MAN
wouldn't that make it more annoying to mash the face buttons if you wanted to do it that way (due to camera movement with the right stick)? I can cheat because I have that Razer controller which can map buttons to its extra shoulder bumpers though. So I might just try swapping.
