great thread, can't wait to get my hands on one.

What is the range on remote play? I am intrigued with the possibility of playing some PS3 games on the Vita in another room while someone else games on the TV.

Personally speaking, I'd rather pay $99 for a 32GB card, so that I don't have to manage multiple memory cards. I don't want to lose one. Another reason for me is so that I don't have buyers remorse later for not having bought the largest one possible the first time.

Exactly.

And I'm not saying that the memory card pricing isn't exorbitant....it is.

But, at the price/GB the 32 GB is in line with the other cards on the Vita, so my options are basically:

1. Get the 32 GB now for $100, be able to store 10 titles similar in size to Uncharted: Golden Abyss, or roughly 20 or more titles that are more average in size. Wait 3-4 years to upgrade the memory card if I feel burdened by having to delete older content off my card. Or never have to upgrade at all.

or

2. Grab an 8 GB card right now for $30, only be able to store about 2 Uncharted sized titles, and upgrade in a year for a 32 at $50 or a 64 a $100.

I would never really feel comfortable at the 8 GB size, 16 GB still feels a bit limiting, but at 32 GBs, that gives me a lot of room to play with for the foreseeable future.

I'm sticking with 16 for now, but down the road, if and when there is a larger and more reasonably priced option, I'll upgrade.

How big are most PSP games on PSN? I'm interested in The 3rd Birthday and FF4 complete and I just assume those games are pretty big. I feel like I'd run out of room on 16GB relatively fast.

And even i am moderately surprised
As DC said, we're all big boys. Go preach about that elsewhere (not you).

just to antognise a bit more.

I didn't buy a 32gb card.

I bought two.

and a 16gb card as well.

TAKE MY MONEY SONY, OH YOU SEXY GODS OF GAMING! IT'S A REWARD FOR BEING SO AWESOME WITH THE VITA!

I per-ordered a 32Gb card too. Will put a bunch of media on it so I can play them when not gaming. Also waiting for download based Music Unlimited and BR digital copy for Vita.

I will most likely buy PSN PSP games too.

I have the 3g ordered from Amazon. I myself am hoping for some deals on some PSP games I missed out on. I will probably end up getting Hot Shots Golf and Super Stardust Delta around launch.

Yet to get my hands on one, and this is a concern.

I found any game needing the 'nub' on the psp pretty much unplayable due to me having large hands. Same with the 3DS, if you use the d-pad, the L1 type button is no longer usable.

How is this situation with the vita? Do you have to contort your hand to use all the controls? Or does it feel natural like a dual shock controller.

i still don't understand how people think the FEB is overpaying.

3g unit is 300
4gb memory card is 20
little deviants is 30
case is worth 20 at least (also the best case in my opinion)

that is 370 dollars worth of stuff for 350 and you get it a week early. i don't see how that is a waste of money.

It was a decent deal until they announced the 3G Launch Bundle which made it no longer a deal.

It's now:

3G unit is - $270
4gb Memory card - $20
Little Deviants - $30
Case - $30

You're paying $30 for that case which is not worth it. You lose out on $10 and you're stuck with Little Deviants and in some cases not being able to pick your case.

oh?! nvm then. I don't think little deviants is worth $30 either. $19.99 maybe but $30 is a rip-off...

If you don't think it's worth it, why are you paying $30 for it?

Originally planned on getting rid of my 360 for it since I literally never use it but then I just thought how dumb having two handhelds is.

if you were willing to trade your 360 its probably because you don't use it as much, id trade that and keep the 3ds, since we"re entering twilight years for the 360 and better games are going to come to 3ds.

Cause I can? ... So you really think Little Deviants is why I bought the FEB? lol. Honestly I don't see the problem it's $50 dollars to get the system 7 days early and adding a game that I wouldn't have bought if I had the choice but that I also might enjoy...

They aren't nubs. They are analogue sticks. Apparently the placement of the right on is an issue for a few but I didn't have any problems with it the one time I played.

Might need to stop sniffing glue
I will be trading in my PSP for the Vita plus some UMD games that I have laying around. I know that I'll never play that again so might as well put it to good use.

Gamestop gave me about $25 for my PSP-3000, and some pocket change for my UMD's. I figure, it's better than having them laying around collecting dust, and I'm just too lazy to find buyers and ship to them.

I need to look at Unit 13 footage. I DONT BELIEVE~ it's by SUCKOM devs.

Can people please stop dragging the SOCOM name through the mud? Zipper did that themselves with the travesty that was SOCOM 4. Most here have probably never played SOCOM 1 and 2. I hope one day people get to relive the magic of those games. It's crazy knowing many people have never played Breach, Escort, Extraction, and Demolition modes. I missed the days of 8 on 8 and everyone had a mic and communicated.

EDIT: With that said Zipper has destroyed SOCOM and Unit 13 is Socom 4 light and I refuse to buy anything from them ever again unless it is just a can't miss game or is return to classic SOCOM.

I'm close to changing my 3G launch pre-order to the FEB. My only concern...How easy/difficult is it to switch between memory cards?

I suppose. I'd only miss out on one game without a 360, and definitely more than that without a 3DS.

I would consider halving that list. I know there is awesomeness but you have more than enough gaming for a while wit just 3 of those games.

And Fireteam Bravo is really good for those who can appreciate it. Vita dual stick support too. May be worth picking up Fireteam Bravo 2 since I think it has co op no?

How is Golden Abyss looking? Seemed to be the most boring Uncharted game yet from what I've seen, but I certainly hope I'm wrong.

Seems to be solid from the guys that have already played/beaten the game on GAF.

Honestly I hate how the Uncharted series has molded into one giant setpiece after another. I'm glad Golden Abyss has gone back to the basics/gameplay. But we'll see how it plays.

A couple of Gaffers say it's really good. One guy has played through it twice and says it's got a lot more exploration in it. I don't think it's a globe trotting adventure like 2 and 3 though.

I have it pre ordered and I want it but I am a bit torn. Will services like Gamefly be able to rent the cards?

Edit: Looks like gamefly does list Vita games. Ok I am in.

GAME here has a much better trade in program. A PSP 300 plus two recent games can slash the price to 129€. I also have some PS3 games that I'll throw in there to sweeten the deal even more. I'm counting on having the Vita for more or less 90-100€.

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
After thinking a bit swaped out the FE bundle for the Wifi version and a 32gb card. Don't need the 3g version, free game doesn't interest me and I could use the bigger card. I can wait the week.

Just not the SOCOM brand lol. You can bash Zipper all you want. I wish some other developer would step up and deliver a true SOCOM experience. I think a game like SOCOM 2 would be viewed as fresh in today's market.

Can't believe the Vita is launching so soon. I hope it does well. The hardware is really impressive.

Not a dig at you, but I am using this list as an example. I can't believe so many people are buying so much on launch day. Surely within a few weeks stores will be flooded with trade ins, especially for games like Uncharted, Modnation and Rayman where there are no multiplayer features.

I rarely buy two games in a week even leading up to Xmas, but buying a console on launch and more than 3 games would never pop into my head. It's a lot of money to part with and I don't want buyers remorse hahahah. [First World Problem]

Why is the 32GB memory card seen as such a bad deal? That's over 10 large sized Vita games (~3GB).

Most Vita titles will be much smaller.

Having that much space makes it easier to trim the fat when you need to make room for new games, if you come close to exceeding the space limit.

I dunno, I feel if you go 32 GB you will be pretty comfortable not having to upgrade for quite a while. And by the time you do have to upgrade they will have 128 GB+ cards available probably on the cheap.
not to mention it's actually the cheapest per GB

in this thread : people tell you how to spend your money.

You aren't my dad.

Can't be quoted enough.

I have mine already, with a 16 gb card. Wipeout 2048 is fucking awesome and the console itself is pure sex (dat screen). I wish it a long life and tons of great games because I see myself playing a lot with it.

Once the thing is released in Europe, I think I'll get another card (maybe 32), but still thinking about the games. I certainly want every fighter, and Rayman. I plan to get like 10 games I missed out from PSP to play on Vita as well, once the EU store is open.

Still doubtful about going only digital or mixing it with physical releases. Weird for me, I always loved the idea of having ton of boxes but some years of heavy use of Steam has make me detached of the whole physical thing.

Why is Good People Die labeled as a Japanese launch title? It isn't even out in Japan. Shin Kamaitachi no Yoru, the blue silhouette VN from Chunsoft, was the launch game.

Anyways, I'm buying it at launch for Gravity Rush. It looks too good to wait on.

Oh yeah, I do remember seeing things that made it seem as if the exploration was actually improved upon in contrast to the other Uncharted games. That was good. I did think the characters looked AWFUL (predictable little shithead dude and Dora the Explorer) and there was a scene with a car busting through a gate and then exploding as Drake jumped away that looked laughably bad.

I love Uncharted more than any franchise in gaming, but I'm hesitant to spend 50 bucks on a non-Naughty Dog, non-multiplayer version.

People are saying it's better than Uncharted 3.

See? How can I trust crazy people?
