Luckily from all the stuff out there for us to see it seems that Gears 2 MP is going to be a whole different kind of game then what we're all used to now. I think we're all going to be thrown into MP on those first couple days and we're going to try to do what it is we all still do and we're going to fail... hard. All these things like mobile cover, stopping power and the new smoke grenades are going to completely change Gears MP as we know it. And I'm with you on not getting much sleep around the week following launch. Like I said last night, I want to kill off that campaign and then I can't wait to get into some Horde with you guys. I think with a group of 5 of any of us (BlaZe, PhaZe, Full Recovery, PXG, Black Ice, and I) could tear that shit apart... I already figured that when I first beat Horde that it'll be with some combination of you guys.

But yeah... maybe if we want to try and change up how we all play when we have a full on GAF game next time then we could all try to drop shotty for whatever power weapons we pick up. Not having a shotgun could already completely change how our matches go down.

I usually play the same way (shotgun crazy) but I played a game with a bunch of other people about 2 weeks ago and they told me in the lobby that shotgun is banned in their games. So we played Raven Down-one of the most shotgun heavy maps IMO, and for 19 games they used nothing but Lancers, Pistols, and Smokes. It was really weird playing the game like that, almost felt like a completely different game, but it was pretty awesome. Teamwork was absolutely vital and since they all seemed to know each other they were communicating so much more than the other randoms I play with. I tried to carry on playing like that for a while, but it's difficult when you're playing against other people that are shotgun heavy.

Seems like it already has. First thread I saw last night in the Gears 2 section of the Epic forums was a thread that had a title like "Gamertag Professor X has played through the game! Major Spoilers!" or some shit like that. To top it off the thread already had five pages or so. Why people want to do that to themselves is beyond me.

I'm glad that they changed the MP in Gears 2. No more one shot downs with the Longshot, no more shotty battles, reduced wall bouncing, ect ect. Its going to be refreshing to try out and fool around with the new features. The wait is getting even harder.

My ASM at Gamestop told me of a local mom and pop game store that breaks street dates all the time. I'm going over there around Halloween time to see if they got it

It seems to have the same mechanics as the snub pistol from gears 1. So I would say that it can get headshots, but I haven't seen it happen in a video yet.

Yeah man we should definitely get a few games in when Gears 2 hits. The bullet lag really varies because sometimes I can play fine with Americans even those as far away as the West coast, it really just depends on the quality of the host's connection. Hopefully it won't be too bad and I can finally play with you guys

Well these guys have said that I have a pretty good connection and we're for the most part all on the East coast so maybe it won't be so bad. Hopefully you get that Xbox back sometime soon-ish.

The best thing you can do to get an idea on the MP maps is watch the latest viddoc and also go check out some youtube videos.. you'll see a few maps in action on those vids.

For some reason I don't think I'd accept the offer to get Gears of War 2 early...

I'm just hyped for that specific day. Everyone I know will be getting it that night and I just want to have a blast with all the people I know and to go through ranked and what not together.

I'd enjoy Gears 2 for sure if I got it early, but I'd feel somewhat empty without all my friends having it and not being able to coop the game :(

The more I thought about it, the more I feel the same way as you. I'm hyped for that day and all the excitement surrounding it. I wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much without everybody there to play with and talk to about it.
