We're well into the sixth month of the year, what are your favorite albums of the year so far?

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - The Nashville Sound
Harry Styles - Harry Styles
Dan Auerbach - Waiting On A Song
Rancid - Trouble Maker
Gov't Mule - Revolution Come... Revolution Go

Out tomorrow but the singles are good enough I'm including it:

Xiu Xiu - Forget
Sampha - Process
Somi - Petite Afrique
Animal Collective - Meeting of The Waters (just an EP)

These are what came to mind immediately.

Need to dig deep into Planetarium and Slowdive most of all, wasn't a big fan of DAMN.

DAMN. - Kendrick Lamar
Beautiful Thugger Girls - Young Thug
Planetarium - Sufjan Stevens
Common as Light and Love Are Red Valleys of Blood - Sun Kil Moon
FUTURE - Future

I've gotta listen to Slowdive again, gotta get around to the new 2 Chainz, and I'm definitely hoping Vince's new album is good.

Don't know how it's gonna sound in its entirety but the songs we've heard off Everything Now by Arcade Fire so far has got me mega hyped for it releasing next month.

When I saw everyone raving about that 2Chainz album I was like "LOL, wut?"

...but it's really freakin' good.

Lorde, Gorillaz, Kool G Rap, Slowdive, RTJ, The xx, Joey BadA$$, Kendrick, Alt-j, Goldie and Com Truise have been my standouts so far this year.

Been enjoying the new Roger Waters Album.

Other highlights include , A winged Victory for the Sullen - Iris (think it came out this year) and Forest Swords new one. Listening to Elder at the moment too.

A good second half of the year hopefully with new Mogwai, Steven Wilson, Kadavar, Queens of the stone age and Trickfinger (John frusciante electronic music) albums coming out.

Biggest disappointment is new Flaming Lips record. Hope it wins be round though.

I forgot Waters had a new album, will have to check a look.

Cloud Nothing's - Life Without Sound

Been listening to them for a couple of years now, but the sound they got going on on their new album is so fucking great.
Great songs as well. I'm totally hooked on this album for a couple of months now.

Perfume Genius - No Shape (extravagant, intimate art pop)
Brockhampton - Saturation (experimental hip-hop/R&B/art-pop/90s emo? collective)
Mount Eerie - A Crow Looked At Me (the saddest fucking thing)
Fleet Foxes - Crack-Up (dense, expansive, introspective chamber folk)
Idles - Brutalism (very British, sardonic, political punk)
Kendrick Lamar - DAMN (ultra-dense, dark, conscious hip-hop)
Colin Stetson - All This I Do For Glory (percussive, rhythmic solo sax stuff)
Forest Swords - Compassion (psychedelic, atmospheric, tribal electronic stuff)
Sampha - Process (British alternative-R&B with great writing and vocals)
Xiu Xiu - Forget (abrasive and weird but super catchy art-pop)
Kelly Lee Owens - s/t (dream-pop-meets-ambient-techno)
Gas - Narkopop (ambient techno for people in forests)
Mac DeMarco - This Old Dog (suprisingly affecting synth-y folk pop)
Arca - s/t (glitchy art-pop with pretty extraordinary spanish-language vocals)

I honestly feel like this will be AOTY for me. Every song he's released so far has been so good, and I can't stop jamming to Feels.
