I just can't quite see the justification for making it retail over DL with the rest of the VC titles?
If printed as a limited run, the cost-to-benefit ratio of Nintendo localizing Mother 3 and bundling it with the already localized Earthbound and Mother (never released, but localized) would probably work out in Nintendo's favor.

That makes sense, but wouldn't that mean that this alleged collection would release after EB VC? It don't think it would be a good idea to release them close to each other.

They have other team who are working on 3Ds title. We dont know what is it but there is at least one concept art.. wich does not look like mother.
I believe the phrase was "a project everyone wants us to do".

That's just a recruitment ad. The art is more than likely not related to a game in development -- Honne draws tons of random art and the artwork in Monolith Tokyo's ad also wasn't related to their game.
Yeah, Retro's probably doing some blockbuster action game. I have no idea why Nintendo would even think to hand over the Mother series to them.

Nintendo must know by now that there is a demand for these games. Why should they charge $8 or $5 when a lot us will pay more for the three games or even just the one? I know I would pay $30 just for Earthbound. Hell, a couple weeks prior to the old announcement, I was planning on buying a cart off of ebay.
Still, I'd love a compilation and a brand new game but my suspicion is that it'll just be a DL card or something for the SNES game.
