I wonder how many people were okay with the lengthy mazes in palace 7 and how many of those enjoyed Sector Eridanus in Strange Journey.

(I enjoyed both).

eh... it wasn't the most annoying thing ever but I would have preferred if palace 7 had been cut down quite a bit. like my major issue is
most of the puzzles where long, and then you got to a next floor and instantly had to do it again before finally getting to the next miniboss.

I just thought it might be an interesting cross section, as both are known for being extremely long mazes that put a lot of people off.

The thing about palace 7 is there's
no sense of escalation. It's just the same thing over and over - rat maze, miniboss, repeat. Previous palaces varied it up a lot more, with different puzzles and gimmicks as you progressed through the dungeon.

I never played the strange journey one so I can't comment on that.

and in general I don't mind long dungeons, but they have to keep bringing new things not just repeat the same gimmick over and over.

It's more like they weren't even challenging just immensely tedious, for a game that has been 90 hours long so far the fucking rat mazes are the one time I'd call the game out for blatantly padding things out.

Hahahaha, see, that's especially true for me.

I've been working on Palace 7 for three IRL nights, and I'm already 133 hours in. it's one of the only places in the game where I'll be playing and then suddenly think "Eh, I've had enough for tonight," and step away. The only other period like that was Palace 5. Every other section of the game I can't stop playing. To the extent that I'm willingly giving up sleep to stay up late playing more.

I beat Palace 5. The end wasn't that bad, and the music was dope as hell.

By far my least favorite palace. Starting to get a lot more of my slinks to rank 10 which is a cool feeling. I feel like shit is starting to get wrapped up finally.

I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet, but I love the unique way each Phantom Thief holds their health/stamina bar pic. It's such a small detail and oozes personality from each character.

If you think things are starting to wrap up at palace 5 end, you ain't see nothin' yet.

Me too haha, I guess I'm part of the problem.

I did think there should have only been three mazes and not four though, but they were good
fun.

I'd say Eridanus was more appropriate in relation to its game though. In SJ it felt like a culmination of all the nasty tricks in past mazes, sort of like a "boss map". In P5 the mazes were just a new gimmick that was used too many times in the same dungeon and it looks like most people didn't even enjoy it the first time.

I feel you on this. I beat the game yesterday and last night was the first time I slept for more than 5 hours since the game came out lmao.

I don't understand this Calling Card thing. I'm in Palace 1, at the Throne Room Safe Room. It's Saturday May 23, every guide online mentions. "Calling card"... Is this something I'm supposed to get in the palace? Should I go into the Throne Room now (I'm low on SP) or do I have time to go back to the real world and recoup? Where do I find the Calling Card?

It will all be explained shortly once you go into the Throne Room. If you're already there, I'd go ahead and do it.

[HERMIT RANK 8&9 SPOILERS]

What exactly are this girl's parents doing to her?
Because it sounds like they've been straight up producing porn or at the very least some really risque shit with their minor daughter, but the whole thing is kind of weirdly glossed over and neither Futaba or Protagonist seem as disgusted or shocked as they should be.

Am I reading the implication here wrong?
Her parents have been "taking pictures of her in the kinds of clothes that don't actually cover anything," and they were apparently already doing it when Futaba knew her and they were only in, like, grade school?

Maybe there's something when I hit Rank 10 that'll re-contextualize this?

It seems weird that one of the most apparently appalling situations happening in the game is just kind of a quick one-off Mementos visit.

EDIT: Ugh, and her parents are represented as Succubus and Incubus?

Swimsuit/skimpy cloths idol modeling stuff, it's borderline porn and(I think) still legal in Japan.

That's exactly it, I think it's a bit more blatant when you talk to their shadows... And well, they're a Succubus and an Incubus after all. Pretty fucked up.

You need to secure a route to the treasure, then the game tells you that you need to send a calling card in the real world to get the treasure to physically appear, and then you go back in to get the treasure. That's the general pattern for palaces. So, get to the treasure room, leave the palace and send a calling card (done at team meetings in the hideout) and then go in immediately the next day to get the treasure.

Hope that helps.

Thanks! Yeah that's what I did. I ask so many questions because the limited time makes me anxious. This is my first persona game and the whole time thing gives me anxiety.

I have 9 days left until expulsion, it's Sunday May 24. Think I have enough time to stay in the real world, increase some confidant bonds, get supplies, etc. or should I immediately go fight Kamoshida? 9 days left and I'm kinda tired of being in that palace.

I feel like this situation is too much for the game.
Like, I don't care if these people have a "change of heart," they shouldn't be allowed to keep their daughter.
Even if these people magically become the best parents ever, their daughter is still going to remember who they were and what they did.

So I'm at 10/26 just now and
Makoto totally fucked the group lmao holy shit..I mean I get why it was done for plot purposes and narrative or whatever, but if that were for real, noone would be that stupid to bring Akechi in as the guest for the school festival.
Especially when shit is hitting the fan with the phan-site, attack from the news 24/7,
and police investigation ramping up. This bitch even asked him straight up...like wtf?!!
Makoto is not best girl...neva!!! Haru is best!!!

I guess this wasn't said to happen in this case, but it's why a lot of people who get their hearts changed turn themselves in, because they can't live with their guilt. Could be the same in this situation but, if it is,
Futaba doesn't mention it.

End of Palace 5 spoilers

I know that motherfucker Akechi did it don't you lie to me game!

This is the first time I'd rather the plot advance than have free time.

Dungeon 6 is amazing. Can't stop playing.

However, only one of my party members is at max confidant rank. (Ryuji) I feel kinda screwed here.

On the first dungeon is there anything I can do confidant wise before sending the calling card? It's Sunday May 24 (8 days left). I've already restocked. Should I sleep as start a new day or two before sending the card and the boss fight? Any advantage or disadvantage?

If you reached the treasure room and the game is telling you it's time to send the calling card, then you should do it as soon as you're comfortable, because party member SLs are locked at that point until you beat the boss.

MC and Futaba aren't shocked because it isn't unheard of, and technically it's legal. It's just fucked up and completely morally wrong. I'm 99% certain the implication is that the parents are forcing her into the more putrid side of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junior_idol

Keep playing. You are judging events prematurely before they explain fully what's going on.

I'm about to reach the "present" and I still haven't started Haru's s-link because my proficiency is at 4. Is there still time to complete it?
i was in the same boat, didn't make it to 5 proficiency until after that point and i was still able to max out haru before the end. you should be fine

I just listened to Signs of Love, Heartbeat, Heartbreak, Like a Dream Come True and Your Affection, and came to the realization that Persona 5's daily life tracks are super disappointing. Beneath the Mask isn't even close to as good as any of these. Still, the dungeon musics are ace, so I can't complain.

Pretty much, yeah. I really only been using Last Surprise, Will Power (the best), and Blooming Villain. And while I've liked some dungeon themes (haven't started 5 yet), I haven't heard anything remotely close to Heaven or Striptease.

This game is basically just a super-long anime. I've played P4 but never finished it, after sinking 100hrs into it... It is the first game where I've appreciated voice-overs, since I can check my phone when there are speaking scenes. I know it's been beaten to death but why can't I just make some damn tools before bed, Mona?!

I'm already 80hrs in, but only on Palace 5. I hear this one's rough, any tips? Or am I misremembering?

Really? I would put the worst palace theme in Persona 5 as about on par with Striptease. I think all of the tracks you've gone through so far, as well some of the ones past 5, outclass everything Meguro did with 4.
