Thread title gonna make this thread hard to search for when you forget it.
Exactly. Thread title needs to be modified to include "Simpsons". People are going to start searching for "simpsons" in thread title, not see anything resembling an OT (other than locked thread), then make new threads in the future.

Or you could do it the smart way and use your Subscriptions so you never HAVE to forget it. Even when I learn something new and am afraid of pushing old knowledge out of my head, like when I took that wine-making class.
That's great for the new people who create a Simpsons thread because they can't see one.

Then we'd be seeing double: FOUR Simpsons threads

Which is great if it's up top and fans catch it, terrible if they're trying to find it via search or don't consider the fact that it's being obtuse and using a reference rather than an actually useful title.

It's also going to be effectively invisible for people who don't get the reference. I'd like to see some kind of consensus as to what a new title could be, but I think it ought to be changed.

Well I mean we can stick with The Thompsons, but as a subtitle. I'm not going to go back 15 pages and tally votes or whatever. I'd like a general idea about whether people would be ok with that, or whether they'd prefer some alternative since that would ruin the joke.
The Simpsons | The Thompson would lose the essence of the joke I think, so if a change is needed it probably should be changed completely.

i would prefer any other title to be:

or
the simpsons |ot2| it's a perfectly cromulent thread
i would prefer staying away from anything that comes across as negative- which is why i found 'don't cry for me' and 'die simpsons die' to be really poor choices.

Yeah, the pornography one is my preference if we're not being negative.
If the pornography title is not possible on GAF, then I I'd suggest something simple and unoffensive i.e.
The Simpsons |OT2| A Noble spirit embiggens the smallest man
or something to that effect. Certainly I don't think you can use The Thompsons as a subtitle, it loses all meaning then.
