I imagine we'll be seeing a lot of Mage and Warlock cards during the Kabal week and Shaman cards during the Lotus week.

That card doesn't have a powerful enough effect that you want to include Spellbreaker for. If Warriors don't want to use Spell breaker for Highmane/Sylvanas than they aren't going to start with this card.

You need effects that are Sylvanas/Tirion tier powerful to bring out the Spellbreaker. You never feel good about silencing a 3 mana or lower minion.

Don't disenchant all your cards for one deck. Just buy classic packs and slowly build up a collection. Occasionally sprinkle in an Old Gods pack. If you spend money you could buy Karazhan but it isn't super critical.

Do all of the CPU class stuff on both regular and heroic. Then just pick a class and play. You'll gain some basic cards as you go.

Then just spend your coins on classic cards for now. No need to rush out and do anything else.

If you want to spend real money cash homie then buy the $5 Welcome Bundle. Your also guaranteed a legendary. So you could potentially choose a class based on what cards you get from that.

Just play to have fun. Don't worry about your rank. Also learn that you can cycle your daily quest once a day if you don't like the quest they give you.

I disagree look for a deck you like and is competitive then dust most of your shit to build it, or an approximation of it, and start hitting ladder. The sooner you can earn season rewards the better to accrue more dust and build up a collection.

A couple things I haven't seen mentioned yet:

When you first start out, you get placed into matches against other newbies. You won't start seeing actual dominant decks for a little while. Enjoy this time, lol.

The adventures that you can buy have powerful cards, and are generally worth it. League of Explorers is the best one.

You can only ever have two copies of a card (and only one copy of a legendary minion) in your deck, so definitely disenchant anything beyond that. There are many epic (purple) cards that are truly garbage, and people here will tell you which ones are safe to disenchant, since they are worth a lot of dust.

I would not go all in on one deck, because you may find that you have more fun playing a different deck after a few weeks. IMO, Mage and Hunter decks are the easiest to play early one, because so many of the powerful cards are basic or common rarity.

Azure Drake is one of the most useful cards in the game, and I think it is worth crafting as soon as you can.

You don't build your collection with season rewards you build it with gold from doing quests every day.

And you most certainly do not build your collection by dusting your collection.

There's a ton of crap that will only ever see fringe play at best, even commons add up. Hold off on playables if you think it's from a class you'll enjoy in the median future.
Season rewards are straight dust. Hitting rank 10 is half an epic of your choice instead of being reliant on RNG. If dusting everything lets you build a deck that can get you to rank 5 you get an epic.

Any predictions/thoughts/guesses on what theme the Jade Lotus and the Kabal revolve around?

When describing the Jade Lotus, Blizz said the 3 classes that were chosen represent the pillars of the faction. Namely: Assassination (Rogue), Ancestral Magics (Shaman), and Versatility (Druid). Each one will probably be centered around the main theme and then the classification, like the grimy goons.

The main theme? I'm guessing Mana. Refunds, reductions, temporary, ramping, etc. We see that with the coin card in Rogue and the refresh mechanic from Kun the legendary in Druid. Shaman fits that slot with Overload. All 3 classes have ways to cheat out mana costs.

On top of that, we will get cards that represent the pillars. Naturally, Rogue is getting Stealth cards. Druid might have access to Armor. Shaman, maybe they'll get nothing but Overload synergy?

Now, for the Kabal... honestly, I'm clueless. Yeah, their shtick is Potions, but all we've really seen are the Priest cards, and they're straight-up GOOD -- no gimmick necessary. On top of that, we've only seen 1 Mage card, and 0 Warlock.

Perhaps, based on Kazakus, their theme is all about splitting existing card effects into Spells and vice-versa. Then combining each one. Dunno.

Based on Blizzard's own statistics, Midrange Shaman is about a percent away from being as dominant as Undertaker Hunter. If you only look at rank 10 to Legend it's even more in Midrange Shaman's favor.

It's bad in so far that it doesn't do anything if it's just removed and only triggers on attack.

If you're unable to clear it though it's gonna be obnoxious.

Every Priest card they have shown is a mistake. They are all blatant power creep cards. If it weren't for the massive Priest out cries then a lot of those cards would've been 1 mana higher or worse in other ways.

Thing is that it's not going to make Priest the best class/deck, it will just make it good enough that you see it enough online and it will be more frustrating to play against.

Yeah I agree with that. It also means they need to be really fucking careful of what they print since cheap cards with powerful effects can become really overwhelming. Any good curve 2 drop and Talonpriest just curves and blows out games.

It's pretty funny looking at stuff like Power Word: Tentacles for being such an overpriced buff effect, then they go wacko and make those two 1 mana spells. The 5 drop is so blatantly overpowered too.

Hunter seems all about getting either immediate / guaranteed value or board stickiness right, while it has a huge upside if it sticks, the tempo swing if it doesn't would be tremendous.

You need to concentrate on just having fun. Stressing about winning in so far as to roll up the ladder will suck the fun out of the game quick.

Just spend your coins on classic packs. There are a ton of great classic cards that every class needs. Plus they won't magically be rotating out.

Hell no. Their marketing is great...

When a new game launches. After that the real marketing team moves on to the latest big Blizzard release.

Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Overwatch all had CRAZY marketing leading up to their releases and these games sold a ton day 1.

While it's true that the Blizzard brand name is good enough to carry some games, it still wasn't enough to make something like HOTS a massive success (even though I am going to assume it's still doing well enough).
