Too add to anyone still thinking about it, Earth Atlantis isn't even in the same league as Sine Mora. Its slow, visually boring and the worst part, it's looks 30FPS but still manages to drop frames. God bless Unity on Switch.

Final fantasy explorers is an okay game. Not much story, okay gameplay, somewhat varied environments, and faster collecting than monster Hunter. As long as you go in not expecting a monster Hunter clone you're okay. I enjoyed being able to have defeated monsters join my team and assist me as I was playing, made playing on my own most of the time a lot more bearable.
Decent game, around 7/10

Elliott Quest is a great Zelda II style action platformer. Golf Quest is more relaxing, 16-bit style light RPG with a fun but simple golf mechanic and lots of humour.

Both are good, I'd say Elliott Quest is a bit more engaging and Golf Quest far more chill.

Not sure if I'm going to be able to pull myself away from Stardew Valley to get back to either any time soon.

I got to review JYDGE for a website and all I can say is do NOT pass it up. It's a top-down shooter with loads of missions and difficulties and a metric crap ton of ways to customize your stats and abilities, if you played Implosion the structure is similar to that but even better. It's probably my favorite eShop game at this point, I hope it doesn't get overlooked by releasing right next to two massive first party Nintendo games.

Snipperclips and Super Bomberman R also use Unity and their performance is fine (though only after patches for the latter) (Snipperclips is 60fps throughout and Super Bomberman R is 60fps in multiplayer and unlocked, but generally above 30fps in single player).

I won't say it fully isn't an engine problem, because good performance in Unity is harder to achieve than it should be (though certain upcoming features should go a long way to addressing this), but you really can't generalize this to all games using the engine.

Not sure if you saw my post to you in this or maybe it was another thread, but I think EQ would be right up your alley based on previous posts I've seen from you about which games you like. I haven't played Golf Story so I can't compare the two but from what I've seen the pacing will be more quick and actiony in EQ. Looks like Lemmy has already kindly compared them for you, though.

Cool, thanks. Sounds like EQ will probably suit my mood better right now. GS looks frickin delightful though and I definitely want to play it eventually.

Yeah I did see your post! I was too amazed that anyone on here has noticed me at all to reply, haha. I'm seriously so excited that someone has taken on the Zelda II formula. I mostly dislike Zelda II, but I've always wanted a sequel haha

Oh sweet, I'm glad it looks appealing to you. I've been trying to spread the word about this hidden gem on GAF for ages so it's great to see many more people getting the chance to play it on Switch. I haven't played very much of Zelda II, but I definitely found EQ much more accessible to get into. I've wondered about trying it again along with really trying Zelda I, but just haven't gotten to it. Anyway, hope you dig EQ and I'll be eager to hear your impressions.

I've wondered about trying it again along with really trying Zelda I, but just haven't gotten to it. Anyway, hope you dig EQ and I'll be eager to hear your impressions.

This is going OT but I think they're both must plays, but mostly from a historical perspective. Like, if you really love Zelda and want to better understand it's origins, you've got to play them. TLOZ is genuinely fun for me still, though clunky. Zelda II though is just too grueling for me.

it's a madhouse. you'll have to wait until people have retail copies to check the codes on the box. the letters aren't even consistent per region so there really is no predicting this.

quick example:

botw was a global SKU, the same SKU in every country and region. product code ends in ~A.
mk8d was the same.
splatoon 2 was not: Japan was A, North America and Australia were combined under B, Europe was C.
FEW now is: Japan=A, NA+PAL=B

Too many games for Mario week. I'll buy them but wont play them anytime soon. Someone will have to make another thread for Switch eshop games that week. Can't let these go unnoticed.

Does anybody know if Telltale Batman season one on the eshop will have split episodes, so we can download which ever episode we want for $5 like on Xbox live and PSN

I really hope they dont force use to get the whole thing, I already played season 1, and just want to get the episodes when every I feel like playing them
