K-Pop Fanboy/Fangirl |OT7| A Great Trash Leader as Always

Honestly I'm just relieved to see Rainbow getting another chance. Here's hoping they come up with some interesting backer rewards.
Supposedly Rainbow's crowdfunding thing is for a photobook that was shot (mostly by Jisook probably) and designed (Jaekyung probably) by themselves. Not any music.

Gilgun 길건 - #내아래
kpop so trashy sometimes, lol. For the veterans, is this the same girl that was doing kpop 10 years ago?
길건 (Kil Gun) - Shake It 흔들어봐 (feat. MC 타이푼/Typhoon)
길건 - 왜 몰라
Also, let my laugh a bit at music bank having better camera work nine years ago.

BEAST - 「Whole Lotta Lovin」(LYRIC VIDEO)
Not the type of lyric video I would expect from Beast, lol.

Edit 2: I completely missed this Stellar song from January.

dance version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54NyyS6_yos
Wait, what?

How can you even skip a Stellar release? It's probably THE group right now in terms of consistent quality output, next to f(x).

I'll check these out, just felt like I miss seeing MBLAQ/C-Clown/TeenTop/MyName type groups regularly releasing stuff

Hmmm, I see where you are coming from. There are some nugus covering that classic kpop boy group space (with less success, though).

크나큰(KNK) - KNOCK
크나큰(KNK) - BACK AGAIN
엔소닉(N-SONIC) Excalibur(Dance.ver)
유키스(U-KISS) - Stalker
NU'EST(뉴이스트) - OVERCOME
Now that I see it this KNK group have a big number of vies for being backed by a small company and uploading their clips in their own channel, maybe there is an actual demand for this type of sound coming back?

Its release window was when I was miserable in winter, busy with school, studying geopolitics/playing videogames in spare time more than keeping up with kpop, and traveling through 8 states to help make a documentary.

Edit: 19 minutes of GFriend livestream for MCD
Didn't watch all of it. I can't stan anyone as much as they keep doing stuff.

But... Stellar!

KNK actually has a bunch of media play backing by their company, which is not a negative thing but they're the same company as Bestie and it's a bit shady to see them prefer to push silly KNK posts rather than Uji slaying on that one show. But you know I'm rooting for KNK, I do hope this 'genre' can make a comeback and they seem to be doing well with it. I also forgot how good that Nu'est track is. With Seventeen being so popular I bet they'll be stuck in Japan and the Pledis basement for quite a while.

These are also good boygroup releases that somewhat fit the genre, the first two are more Teen Top-ish maybe.

Up10tion - So dangerous
Monsta X - All in
Map6 - Storm

As some extras, I've found that last year had some of my fave songs hidden away as b-sides while the promoted tracks were really obnoxiously tryhard (for these groups in particular):

Myname - Mayday
History - Slow Down

no hate, just referencing the recent stuff where people have dug up her past photos even though she's admitted to plastic surgery

Holy shit. I didn't know about this so I googled it. Hats off to the surgeon making Chaeyeon look like such a natural beauty! That's really impressive, actually.

Ah OK. That actually sounds pretty good!

#SowonSoTall

Reminds me of their early B-sides, which is no bad thing.

Just finished redoing my essentials list.

I think I've covered everything so hopefully no one throws me under the bus again haha.

As I said in the thread, hopefully it's just a bot not some stan that's really bored. Otherwise, I'd be a little concerned about the user as he/she seems perfectly normal before the switch.

It's spreading!

btw now that Baby J/Ha Jooyeon is coming back in the spotlight with Unpretty Rapstar; I wonder if I can start a scandal with this screengrab that I made one time.

All I read was "spotlight, scandal and screengrab" then my brain automatically thought the chair by the window was something phallic hahaha.

If you exchanged studying part, for moving country (again), then it's almost exactly the same. Shit that K-pop seems to be one of the things that easily falls by the wayside, when in reality, it'd probably help to keep me sane and distracted, but there you go...

Thanks for bringing it to (our) attention!

Nah, don't worry, if I finish mine, I'm sure I'll expose myself as an even bigger scrub.

Kpop-Gaf can't say I know much kpop outside of Wonder Girls. Just found the track, "It Hurts", by 2nE1. Can you guys recommend me songs similar to that?

Sistar came back with a good song and GOT REKT
Could this be due to a lack of something EVERYBODY KNOWS about?
I realize this isn't fair at all. Tis a joke.

Anyways, Wa$$up's Sujin is having fun on Twitter.

2BiC launched a new single two weeks ago:
투빅 2Bic - 그날의 우리 The Day of Us Official M/V
It's actually a ballad, it doesn't feel like the right moment for this, but song is good. Would really like more upbeat songs from them especially during the summer season.
In other news, it's happening, 2BiC JunHyung and TARA Jiyeon (feat. Yoon Yo) will release a song together.

I'm not sure if they fit but they all are pretty great songs anyway:
MAMAMOO(마마무) - I Miss You M COUNTDOWN 160225 EP.462
[MV] SONGJIEUN(송지은) _ False Hope(희망고문)
[AOA - 10 seconds] Comeback Stage l M COUNTDOWN 160519 EP.474
Red Velvet 레드벨벳_Automatic_Music Video
I'm sure other people can actually find way more songs. And also if you like "it Hurts" I liked this mix:
Bad boy, 아파, 없구나 - JOAYO

This about sums up my reaction:

'NAVILLERA' is such a meh track, that I actually had to go back and listen to it just now, so that I could remind myself what it sounded like. 'I Like That' I didn't initially like either, truth be told, but it's really grown on me.

The public's shit taste (or my own ) continues, I guess.

Gfriend song just came out though. Sistar's song has already been out for 2 or 3 weeks, right? They already got music show wins also.

And Navillera is solid, is probably my favourite Gfriend single.

Yeah, maybe a tad early, but it's the kind of thing I assume will win-out in the end. I have terrible luck with this stuff.

And that's that what worries me, I always feel like their stuff is pretty damn generic. Maybe I just haven't listened enough, because it does feel like I'm in a minority here, even in this thread.

Edit: Scratch that, I actually really like 'Rough'.

Yeah sure, Gfriend will beat easily Sistar (Rough has been also in the charts forever). It's just more mainstream now.

But I understand it not clicking with everyone. I usually don't like the cute concepts and songs, but, somehow, their tracks just work with me.

Tbh there's still a bunch of stuff that I missed that most don't care about(Clazziquai, Hyukoh, basically k-indie rock).

I think it'll be easy to make a list if it's strictly k-pop though. But once you delve in to hiphop, rnb, rock, indie or whatever, then you really encounter some super duper obscure stuff.

This is what it must feel like to be a non A-Pinkeu stan lol.

Gfriend to me basically seems like a copycat of A-Pink but with lamer cute concepts and tracks that I honestly can't get into it. Navillera is a step in the right direction though.
