PlayStation VR Thread 2: Reloaded

ArtHands

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch
True story.

PSVR will have probably more third party support. Developers can go multiplatform as there are 3 high end VR headsets out there.
Multiplatforms are the 80-90% of a system's library.

I was just curious about why has someone considering selling psvr when he talks about the amount of games, and at the same time he is ok with switch's library.
That's it. I got the answer.

peace.

Switch games doesnt last for an hour or two though.

Snipperclips lasts about two hours though

So that's 1 out of the many titles that are available now for Switch...and my point still holds true.

Seriously what's with Switch / WiiU in a VR thread?

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
So what's the word on Driveclub VR? Did they ever make it more comfortable for those that experience motion sickness?

No, but there's nothing inherently vomit-inducing about racing in VR.
Trackmania does much crazier stuff and doesn't make me sick. (Driveclub had me sweating and feeling terrible within three turns.) I haven't played Dirt but I haven't really heard complaints about it.

Cyber Danganronpa VR is like five goddamned minutes but it makes me want to see a Danganronpa game with full VR support. Hell, it would probably still work even if they kept the "2.5D" models rather than doing it all in 3D like the demo did.

A video released today shows footage from a few of the upcoming PlayStation VR Experiences, including:
  • David Attenborough's First Life
  • Atomic Ghost Fleet
  • Cocos Shark Island
  • Chernobyl VR Project
  • Everest VR
  • The Virtual Orchestra

Everest looks to be true VR but I'm not sure about the others. They could simply be 360 video.

Nothing better than free VR stuff am i right? :p

Just bought a Pro last week, and now I want to get into VR, but looking at how things are going so far, i'm scared to make the investment.

It really feels like there's been close to silence on this thing since release.

A big first party VR game is coming out next week (Starblood Arena) and another one next month (Farpoint). There's generally a small game or new video app out every week and some major games still on the horizon (Gran Turismo Sport and Ace Combat 7). Sometimes I really don't understand what some people expect. Hell I haven't even finished all the games I picked up on launch day.

Close to silence... I really have no clue how you could get that impression. It is central on every game related event Sony has a booth on, games are coming out all the time, the PS Blog has regular VR posts, I see news and features on games media all the time.

Everything below Superbowl is unnoticeable?

Mortal Blitz looks like exactly what I have been asking for. I freaking love light gun games.

Software comes out for it every single tuesday. People went nuts about RE7 on it... WAAAY after the HMD released. You haven't really been paying attention as a non-owner I guess.

Big EU PSN sale on many PSVR titles right now. 20% to 50% off Rez, Thumper, Robinson, Eagle Flight, Mervils, Windlands, Headmaster and more. Hopefully it comes to North America...I've been waiting for a sale.

At those prices I'd say that Pinball FX2 is definitely worth it. The others are 50/50. Lots of game time in Battlezone - depends if you like the concept.

I think Battlezone is pretty cool! I even thing this has some roguelike elements too? Love a VR Roguelike game!

Looks like there is a new upcoming game / experience at PSX Munich right now called "PSVR Adventures". No details, only this picture in a tweet by @PlaysiLounge:

c8pkx91xkaajlyicfpob.jpg

I'm guessing it's new video experiences ...as the person playing it doesn't appear to be holding a controller (although I suppose they might be going the Ocean Descent route and create generated experiences).

Hopefully the image quality is decent. I'm sort of hoping they'll focus on 180 degree videos with the image quality as high as possible....as although 360 allows you to look around a whole world it means a big drop in the quality due to the video being stretched so much...but sadly 360 seems to be what VR video makers concentrate on (outside of porn at least).

Trackmania's VR mode is not first person and has tracks specifically designed to minimize motion sickness.

Can't really compare it with Driveclub, it's not the same kind of game at all.

For those with Mortal Blitz, is there any Survival mode or is it simply repeating the same levels for better scores?

I just bought

Battlezone
Holoball
Pinball FX2 VR

Battlezone is still downloading but Holoball and pinball is really good for that price. Holoball looks kinda boring in 2d but in VR its really nice, and can get really tense and fast. This could be a workout!

Pinball is just nice to play in VR, it's really well done, you have Really the feeling you are right in front of a pinball machine.
