Super Famicom Mini initial shipment 100k bigger than Famicom Mini, sold out from first day, shortage still going on.

Depending on the schedule of additional shipping and the number of units it can exist alongside Switch at this year's end sales playing leading role.

I don't even understand the point of that comparison, like you are looking at sales for Switch launch months to PS4s fourth year on the market. Be better to compare their first few months after launch.

The comparison is important because this is currently the PS4's best selling year, not it's launch year. The Switch outdoing that in its launch year while still supply constrained would be a massive achievement.

This is a false equivalency. The difference here is I’m using actual cited data as a jumping off point for any evaluations while you’re making unsubstantiated statements that when I press you on giving some data points or frame of reference for you can’t or won’t.

With Namco Bandai I just pointed out they give out unit figures for all regions but Asia, yet they still give overall revenue for Asia. This was in response to your claim that revenue is useless because it’s lacking other income sources from these companies and so Asia would be underrepresented in any comparison but Bandai Namco’s reporting implies the opposite.

PS4s first three months they were at over 5 mil sold and that doesn't include Japan little as that may add. It's much more telling to the PS4 that it is able to sale at the rate it is selling several years later. Regardless if it's PS4s best year or not those launch numbers at a huge chunk; PS4 literally sold over two mil the first two days on the market. Switch is selling well and definitely outpacing PS4 in Japan but worldwide totally different story.

The poor comparison started as friendcode somehow thought PS4's JP third party support would be in danger as SW is outselling it WW, while reality shows the opposite.

6.9 million (53.4 to 60.3) ps4's sold in 6 months is 1.15 million PS4's sold a month.
4.7 million switched sold in 4 months is 1.175 million Switches sold a month.

I'm pretty sure you figured this out so went with the arbitrary ">" to infer it could be more or less that number.

What you did there was bad form. It's not like the switch is blowing out the water. Do you have that much of an ego?

1) its 60.4 million
2) No, > was used as that figure is from June 11, not June 30th, which is the end of that month.

Peak year is after launch, when hardware price and software library (and other factors) cross for the ideal mass consumer adoption. So its not telling of anything other than standard life-cycle dynamics.

No, the comparison started because you made it and said PS4 is currently outselling Switch. I simply responded that I wasn’t sure that was the case based on known numbers.

I’m not sure M2 is that cheap, they seem to be top of the line for retro devs. I was surprised they were on Mana Collection tbh and even improving SD3.

The remake looks pretty bad imo. I don't see it being very successful regardless of platforms.

Personally I'd be more interested in getting the Mana Collection, but I doubt that will ever be localized.

I think M2 is pretty cheap for a big publisher, they're just great, so are starting to get more attention from those. They're a pretty small team so can't do many projects at once...

Not surprised. The demo was really boring and there was no practically no advertising for this game.

Plus after the lukewarm reviews of I am Setsuna they really should have made their next game stand out more. It was more colorful sure, but it still looked to many like more of the same.

Prediction: If it sold better on the PS4 there will be gloating in this thread even if they both flopped. And if it sold better on the Switch, someone will make a brand new thread about that fact and that thread will lead to fanboy wars.

Well..

Tokyo RPG Factory and Setsuna were both announced during Square Enix's E3 press conference in 2105. Their stated goal: to recreate the golden years of JRPGs. Hashimoto says this goal was all-consuming for the team, and that every day, after spending hours reminiscing and discussing what they love about their favorite games from yesteryear, the team would come together to make their dream a reality.

One could argue that they haven't even started yet.

EDIT: Too slow. But I like how you think casiopao

Lost Sphear is Setsuna with even more generic setting, characters and story. The demo was really bad. Marketing for this game was almost non-existant too, can't say I'm surprised at this result.

If I can recall correctly the NA physical version will also be exclusive to the SE online store.

They really don't want people to play this game do they?

I wouldn't be surprised. I enjoyed playing I Am Setsuna, but this game doesn't look anywhere near as interesting. I wish they would have come up with a better idea, like the guys working on Octopath Traveler. I'll pick it up when it's released here, but I feel like the Tokyo RPG Factory guys are gonna have to take a step back and look at what they want to do ultimately.
