80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

Thank you all for the suggestions. Slowly working my way through it.

I thought the OP was going to post 80s style snyth-pop/electro synth cyberpunk inspired music not stuff which just sounds like generic techno of the 10s.

Like things like Polica's Amongster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvmb8oussWs or Punching in a Dream by The Naked And Famous https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szi1iIkhV2E essentially stuff with a bit of auto tune, disorted electronical rifts, a bit of techno and and overall sounding cyberpunkish albums from the both of them while still been pop stuff.

I really have no idea at all about this genre. So I'm just posting what I know and then going from there. Getting suggestions and ideas from GAF. Which is the point of this thread. Thanks for the links though. Most definitely will give them a listen later on tonight.

"At Your Door"

"Lady"

"Running Up That Hill"

"Back From the Grave"

Not exactly pure 80's throwback pop, but the audio cues they take from that style always make me think of the 80's.

You reckon? The album is on my daily rotation. Which tracks do you think are filler (they are probably the ones I skip every now and then :p)

Actually, maybe filler was the wrong word to use.

I just think I listened to some of the songs too many times prior to release (Nightcall, Roadgame, Testarossa Autodrive, Protovision), so by the time I got the album, I was already a bit bored of them.

I would say Grand Canyon and First Blood are my two favourites, but Blizzard, Suburbia, and Endless are a bit forgettable, in my opinion.

One of my favorites is Perturbator.

Some of the best tracks (They're all good):

"Raining Steel"
"Deviance (Feat. Arcade High)"
"Technoir"
"Linnea Quigley Horror Workout"
"John Holmes VHS Nightclub"
"Ghost Dancers Slay Together"
"Miami Disco"
"End Theme"

Any project related to the band Zombi is really good, although it's more 70's horror-inspired synth stuff, but still very good. Off the top of my head Zombi, Steve Moore, Gianni Rossi and Majeure are all projects worth checking out.

Holy FACK. Now this is something truly good. A lot of modern takes on this genre seem to forget that you can slow the shit down and let that synth burn.

Com Truise is indeed the best. Definitely listen to the album it's off of, Galactic Melt.

some more contributions to this thread. I went through my music library and found a wide variety of tracks that I think fit this genre.

DVAS

SymbolOne - I know someone already mentioned SymbolOne, but it was a Danger remix.

Minitel Rose

Miami Horror - This track reminds me of Daft Punk - Verdis Quo

Steve Moore - He is half of Zombi so this doesn't count as new, but this track is awesome

Komytea - Gritty track from a mainly progressive house artist

Alan Braxe - Feel free to look up his original work. I love these next two tracks so that's why I am posting them.

Thanks for making this thread, FE - there's a sound that you want to hear, and I want to hear, and this thread is delivering. Goooooood shit.

The only track I didn't like was Suburbia.

This is a great song (from a great film).

Tangerine Dream - Sorcerer

This is amazing.

My problem with a lot of what's posted in here is it's revival stuff; while it's definitely great, there is something to be said about music created during the time. Pertubator is really awesome, along with the others big on Bandcamp, but I just love hearing shit from the time.

Anyone else?

I didn't think there was such a wide selection of this stuff.
Very glad to have stumbled upon this thread.

If Zombi is too indebted to Argento/Goblin and John Carpenter, what about something like Drokk? Soundtrack for Dredd that wasn't
