Man Namco really screwed the pooch on this one. I totally fell for the delay & didn't even see this damn thing coming. What an awesome marketing campaign on this one....

Needless to say, I will be buying this tomorrow ASAP, I'm just trying to figure out if it will be the 360 or PS3 version. Hopefully GS website will be updated tomorrow so I can at least price match at Best Buy....

Here are some online details (just booted the game back up):
- User can create a city which consists of 5 tracks
- Each track can feature 1 of 5 events (Same as campaign)
- You can add traffic, time of day, AI difficulty, car class, time limit
- There are 9 areas to choose from in the tile editor (you can mix and match tiles from different areas)
- Anywhere from 5-15 tiles per area
- Advanced editor is too much to bullet out...you can basically do anything in there

When browsing through other peoples tracks:
- You can sort through cities by New, Cities of the Day, Hot Right Now, Top Cities, Favorites, and Published.
- Each track has a creator top time/score that you compete against with whatever bots he has set up (AI difficulty is chosen by creator)
- You can search for a city by creator name or city name
- 3 Featured cities appear on the main screen, 24 Hour Challenge, 6 Hour Challenge, and 1 Hour Challenge...seems like a neat way to rotate cities in and out
- You can also select multiplayer, and choose any user created city to play in

This actually sounds pretty good.

So can you host a public game on a custom track?
Thats the deal breaker for me.

Yea, you can actually load an entire city up which is 5 events/tracks. Haven't tried it yet though.

My bestbuy preorder bonus arrived - The RT Solvalou from Type 4 and some other car I dont care about. Hope we get more classic cars.

That's a big deal. So I pick a custom track and have randoms jump in an online race on it? I like the sound of that.

I'll mess with it tonight and let you know. But yea that's what it looked like. You can load your own city, your favorited ones, or any other city. The online looks pretty well thought out, just haven't had a chance to try a multiplayer race. The custom tracks I tried as challenges were really fun though.

Christ this is hard.

How about a difficulty slider for those that arent the best at racing games but still enjoy them? Damn, still good though.

Thanks. Been driving me fucking crazy.

Montreal futureshops say that they have RRU in stock, will be heading there in 30 mins to check.

No problem. She plays Amy Pond on Doctor Who.

I'm considering a switch to the PC version if it's in stock today. Honestly though, I find that most arcade racing games don't have a huge amount of people playing on PC. The PC is a sim racers paradise.

Might just stick with my 360 copy.

Trackmania?

sense of speed looks fine in the second vid, could be because it's first-person view

Trackmania seems like a very different beast even though the concept is similar. It was built with a PC audience in mind.

And it's mostly the free version that's played online. Something like Island can be a real chore to find.

And TM2 has pretty much bombed from an online POV.

Still, I wonder which will have a bigger audience in 6 months. It's still possible the PC version will keep a community longer (for such a niche game).

I can still find games on the 360 version of Blur while I've never been able to get one on the PC.

I didn't say I'd bet money on it;) Just that it's possible. Guess it really depends on how good it is and how good the track editor is. If the advanced editor is as good as it looks, I could see it having some legs (especially once some Steam sales kick in). Nothing guaranteed, but possibly.

After putting in a couple hours last night with this game all I can say is damn it's tough. I must have gone weak on the past couple action racing games because the AI in this one are kicking my butt. But, with every loss you still get XP, so you are slowly building up to beat them with attrition. It's a gun game though. Need to try online tonight.

OMFG HOLY MOTHER OF MARY IN HEAVEN I CANT BELIEVE IT WTF WHERE ARE MY SEDATIVES AAAAHHH
Those of you who have the game. Can any of you tell me if steering wheels are supported? Can any of you play with a G25, TH500RS or Fanatec FFB wheel? If so, are there any options to wheel config such as ffb strength etc? How is the ffb? Strong? Weak? How's the steering control?

Yea, I hate to admit it but it's really tough. At least the online stuff has the options for Easy AI, a difficulty setting for campaign would come in handy. Probably the only issue I have with the game - I've adjust to the powersliding more.

Picked it up for $50 at GS. Not only do I love burnout style arcade racers, I also love old school "no one has any clue this is out" style releases.

I really want this, and I really want this RIGHT NOW on the PS3. But Best Buy's website is down right now so I can't check online inventory (I refuse to call), and GameStop claims it's not shipping until the 30th. Please, GAF, tell me that at least one of you has found a PS3 copy somewhere today!

So after a couple of races, this game is Burnout Revenge... My favorite Burnout. The envoronments are very similar, when you get "fragged" you're urged to "frag your rival." It's super high contrast is identical. Difficulty is high like others have mentioned, but this is one where it's fun to play tracks more than once cause of shortcuts, set pieces etc. So far so good

Hmmmm...even playing people's created city races builds your overall rank. Cool!

Also, forget what I said about difficulty. The fact that it's white-knuckle racing really gives this game an extra thrill. I'm pumping my fist in the air when making first place........or second TBH.

Why do you refuse to call? Their online inventory isn't always accurate

Has anyone even grabbed a PS3 copy? Sounded like only X360 is out for now

Trust no one. Eat steaks.
2hrs till shops open. This is why I love working permanent night shift. Get home, shops nearly open, game half the day. =D

Looking forward to some epic racing offline and on. My body is ready. My HD PVR is ready!

I'm in your cities, beatin' your scores.

This game is awesome. Why did Namco not promote it? I don't get it.

So are you downloading other people's cities and beating their scores? Have you played a custom city online against randoms?

I wonder how fast a random custom city loads up for those involved. I assume it takes a little longer to sort the placement of the map and the assets for that particular race.

Went to four shops this morning, two of which are videogame specialists. Three of them said 'Yes, it appears it is out today but we haven't received stock', fourth one said 'No, it has been delayed till 5th April'. Checked an online site local to me and they changed their date within the last 10hrs because I double checked yesterday and it was confirmed the 29th.

Lameco.

Could be one of the toughest racers I've played in years, or might just be I'm terrible. After the first set of tracks, barely managing to pull third most races.

One of the more frustrating things about this game is that it's easy to fall back and really hard to pick up ground on the other racers. Getting boost is harder than simply drifting and drifting isn't easy to begin with.

I hope cars you unlock later make things a little easier.
