Heroes of the Storm |OT3| Chromiehounds

Hopefully KTZ is still a secondary support. We definitely need more of both those and full healers.

edit: Oh shit, I got hung up on Alexstraza being a dragon that I didn't even realize she'd obviously be a healer as well. Two healers and a secondary support? Sweeeet.

I'd rather they get rid of the whole "secondary support" nonsense.

Just recategorize them as Supports and Healers. They need to delineate between the two, but there's absolutely a place for hybrid characters who heal/shield but aren't full on main healers.

In OW, Sombra, Soldier 76, Symmetra and Torbjorn are all characters you'd categorize like this.

I could go either way.

I'd like to see them get rid of either all secondary supports or all primary supports and have only secondary style support like in other MOBAs. The biggest part of the playerbase just doesn't understand how to use, when to pick, or even the purpose of heroes like Tyrande, Tassadar, and Medivh.

I think Overwatch and HotS both have too many categories.

Each game just needs 3:
Tank
Attack
Support

Anything more confuses players and leads to poor team compositions.

Then list what each hero is skilled at when you click or hover over them like DotA does. Simple and done.

Watch McIntyre's Tyrande video from a few days ago. That's the build we were talking about earlier.

wc3 is awesome, def worth the 20 bucks
i dunno what battle.net is like atm but there are tons of fun custom maps to play too
I'm only interested in the campaign, so waiting for the remaster might be a better deal if they're pricing it like SC:R. If I had known about the remaster when I was playing it at the end of last year I'd have definitely waited and bought it, so, since we kinda know they're doing W3:R, I might as well wait unless we're talking years from now.

Garrosh? How boring

Seems like the perfect counter to varyan, since arms warrior can pass trought tank armor.

Fun Fact, on the Spanish version of OW, Supports are called Healers which is weird since Symmetra cant heal at all

Dont tell me you are an Alliance guy......

I'm not a anything guy. I just don't dig the character. In fact, I would dislike him even more if I was a "horde guy" because I dont like my horde to be "rawr we so evil kill everyone"

All right. all right. I dont like him either

I think the Warrior class is kind of redundant now since we have Varyan taking the same role as multiclass Warrior.

My guess is Garrosh gonna have that silly hurricane axe move, the plungle attack , the orc racial skill and probably call the goblin siege ball

hell if anything I AM a horde guy, because I secretly wish I played horde. I just like my freak races, but by now all my chars have been alliance for years and its too expensive to switch. And I dont want to switch just 1, thts pointless.

And yes, all my characters are either draenei or dogs. Like I said, I like my freaks. Fuck humans.

Since we have Varian and Muradin and to a lesser extent Sonya already doing most of the things a traditional WoW Warrior does I'm kinda racking my brain on what they can give Garrosh to make him not boring/samey. Probably Iron Horde related

And Garrosh is one of the biggest d*ckbutts in WoW personality wise, which is a certain kind of impressive. Went from
NPC to Horde Leader to Raid Boss to canonically hunted (regardless of faction) and killed off
in record time for it too (hidden just in case)

How is Valeera ATM? is worth playing her ranked ?

I joined horde because my friend likes the Horde but my heart is on the alliance they are so epic, have chorus music and have fancy buildings and their point of view on the expansion is more interesting than the Horde, even the BEs wanted to switch sides.

I forgot about Sonya doing the same job as a warrior, Blizzard chose the Siege of Orgrimmar Garrosh so they may probably mimic his boss status moveset , maybe throw his axe and do some kind of buff or debuff on the enemies

there was a point where garrosh had alot of potential as a character but they turned him into a mustache twirling villain.

with that being said i think he has a lot of potential as a hots character, whether he represents the warrior class or uses the Sha powers.

A Sha hero would be super cool as well

Eh, got called a Taco maker and I should be send back to mexico, US is kinda hostile all of sudden

Looks like an oceanic caster who was also a former player and captain a-la Dread. They love those.

edit: Speaking of which, has Dunk ever said why he just abandoned casting altogether? Coaching too, for that matter. I guess stream money is just that much better, I don't know, just seemed weird.

coaching an EU team from NA should wreck your sleep schedule more than streaming.
He seems to have given up casting when he was left out of Blizzcon, though they hired him to be an observer instead.

Is anyone here a big solidjake fan?

I think he's alright but theres a lot of good casting talent and his lack of dedication to the game holds him back alot

Remember his pathetic attempt to jump on the OW bandwagon and almost immediately it failed and he came back? Good times. Like 7 people watched those videos he was producing for OW.

If he didn't half-ass everything he does, he'd be the biggest HOTS caster and have a big following. Instead he forgets to post his podcasts on time constantly and doesn't promote his bloodlust tournament basically at all outside of his own podcast. Dudes just lazy.

This is the worst idea I've heard for HotS.

The player base has shown for three plus years that they can't think their way around heroes like Tassadar and Tyrande being classified as supports, or in the past heroes like Sonya being classified as a warrior. I don't foresee that really changing at this point.

This thread has had numerous people champion them removing the majority of healing from the game in favor of establishing only secondary supports who provide a lot of utility or decent damage instead. Not just for the reason of making heroes more accepted picks in draft, but also in hopes it would make those heroes more enticing/fun for people to play. If you want to go the other way and make them all actual healers, the outcome could be similar, though naturally less people want to play full on heals as we see daily when we log into HOTS.

To me, having supports provide a beefed up version of utility or damage is far more interesting than whatever hole the current meta puts them in based on how they heal. Their heal didn't suit the meta so they weren't picked. In an ideal world, that's probably a good thing, but the problem is there aren't enough of them to have much cover for such pigeonholing so we've repeatedly seen Rehgar and Uther just trade off who is the best pick (and typically meaning the other is garbage in that meta because they are opposites, or simply basically enforcing two different styles of play and leaving every other support a distant stopgap in power), with a long cameo from Malfurion (and BW way back in the day) recently and occasional guest appearances by a few others as a second or third choice in that role. Hell, beyond specific counters which enabled Brightwing and the occasional niche pick per team, it wasn't really until very recently in the life of the pro scene that we saw healers even be picked for utility over their heal in competitive play.

I've personally been a supporter of healing here since this argument first popped up however many threads ago, but the issues with it remain the same. Considering that, it's hard for me to see how the worst idea for HOTS is de-emphasizing healing and emphasizing the unique utilities of each hero. It should make them feel more engaged in fights, and in theory more rewarding to play for more players since it's such a struggle to find support mains or even just people to pick support in draft without being forced into it. It's not something they are going to do because they are wed to the Warcraft style trifecta, but it is something we see commonly in other MOBAs and that they've dabbled with here with the original (and then again with the current) version of Tyrande, original Tassadar, and Medivh.

If they want to avoid that and are still dead set on maintaining this current classification system which is causing a lot of these issues, then they can simply do what many have clamored for them to do for years now...label Tyrande and Tassadar as specialists like Medivh or ranged assassins. Either, or. But until they change the classification system, or change those specific heroes classification tags, or there's a change to the way the support heroes work overall, picking one of those heroes will continue to be a battle with your team because the player base does not understand how to play with them or build a comp around them.

i pretty much gave up on having real supports when i tried wow for the first time at the end of 2015, a lot of the stuff in this game is tied to ideas from wow including the quick match queue
because of wow we have stuff like healers and a mode that thinks etc and diablo are the same thing

Classifications are tied to QM and if you care enough about the game to post in an official thread then you just need to leave QM behind. It's Brawl tier in terms of how the game is actually played. Unranked should be the default mode for anyone who wants to play the actual game.

yah no one wants to sit through a draft tho
which is why they should abolish qm and classifications and implement blind pick as a replacement

none of this will happen tho, still holding on to swaps being implemented lol

qm def integral to my enjoyment of the game, i can play two games of this in the time it takes to play one league or dota game and this is like 80% of why i prefer heroes
but wouldnt mind a 30 sec pick phase ofc

hgc
tricked has a much better comp for the map but dig has tass/tracer/anub/arthas, pretty good draft

Sitting through draft isn't that big of a deal. As another alternative they could just let the players pick out of order. So instead of top to bottom. It's just who ever locks in first. Dota does it that way. If you run the timer out they could start giving the other team xp.

So weird to see Snitch play hard carry. I always thought he was an amazing flex player but I wouldn't be surprised if this teamshift if they stick to it results in him being replaced if it doesn't work out. He's always been in the weakest position on the team.

Sounds like a magnet for toxicity.
