When are they going to add the ability to delete game installs but not update data?

This is something i can get on board with. When i migrated to a new hard drive I couldn't bring myself to delete BF3 data as the patches were rather extensive!

Yeah, it's usually 10MB per save file (afaik it can't be smaller than that - why? ask the geniuses at Sony). Imagine if you have one file for settings/profile info, one file for checkpoint progress and additional files for manual saves and you're quickly approaching the 100MB margin in a single game. And that's not counting stuff like replays or levels created in an editor.

Yeah, Driveclub's replays resally bloated the save file. Apart from DC and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Dragon Age is the only game I have, that goes to three figures due to multiple ~15MB saves. Most games are 30-50MB, even with additional non-mandatory save files. Alien is one of the exceptions, that goes somewhere around 60-70MB.

Update looks nice, hoping they'll add Friends login notification, and appear offline functionality.

I always think if your friends don't check if you're on when they login. They likely didn't wanna play with you anyway Maybe that's just me lol.

Pretty solid update, seems like a lot of things people have been asking for in one form or another. Just give me external HDD support and folders/library organization and I'll be set.

Communities: PS4 users will have the ability to create communities based around shared interests, like games, genres and more. Communities include a message board with general discussion, screenshots shared by players and the ability to join parties or games. If you want to tackle a big multiplayer raid, but don’t have enough friends, this could be a great way to connect with other likeminded players.

Seems interesting for Destiny & Elder Scrolls

Did you guys notice that it's mentioned in the original article at PS Blog, that this isn't a definitive list and some surprises might be there when they finally reveal a release date along with final set of features!

Like last time?

Where they also wrote there is more to come but basically the additional stuff wasn´t even worth mentioning because it was so minor ;-)

This is great news. Now we only need friends-coming-online notification and appear offline.

Yup, then I will be content. I just hope if they implement friend alerts that they also put in the "go invisible" mode as well because having everyone alerted to my presence would make it even more annoying constantly getting invites to parties :p

10GB storage is nice but i want them to make it unlimited like Xbox One because one day or another that 10GB will be full and with so many games to play, 10GB is not that much imo.

.PNG is a great addition.

Now, all i want is an "Appear Offline" and notifications when friends login and logout.

They're getting there though...

They are reliant on separate factors. The specific codec used for the video, RAM usage for the 15 minute video-recording, and keeping it at 720p30 for 15 minutes at a specific bitrate fills that particular amount of RAM, increasing resolution and/or frame-rate would further increase system RAM reservation and I'm sure Sony would rather more RAM go to developers and not for video-recording. If they could find a more efficient codec, I'd rather 720p60fps and better bit-rate than 1080p30.
It annoys me how we can only record 720p at 30FPS without specialist software and hardware. Sony, sort dat shit out, son.

Seems that way. If there is, its URL doesn't follow the same format as the one the EU PSN is using.

Is there a NA firmware beta and, if so, anyone have a link to the registration site?

I have been asking people on reddit and all of them who got an email have said they're from the EU region

This somehow shows me that i am in the SF5 Beta, even though i never got an email about it. Weird.

this might mean they're planning to make it an open beta down the line.

It definitely is 60fps for remote play and share play. But I don't know if it saves the video in 60fps.

Oh is that what it was? Well, that sucks, hopefully they can do that (and 1080p would be nice too).
My Elgato HD (normal one, not the HD60) is becoming less and less useful.

PS4 PNGs are better quality.
