WOW. Phantom Pain sales are pretty great !
Nearly 700k in a month, clearly a sign that Konami was right to release it on day and date as console releases. This should teach something to a lot of publishers.

MGSV making bank despite the first time it's been on PC outside of GZ. CS:GO continuing to dominate and Mad Max doing pretty well, need to pick that up.

Phantom Pains sales are incredibly impressive for a full priced AAA game. 700k almost without a sale yet.

Edit: Also nice stuff from Mad Max. I get the vibe PC gamers are getting a bit more into AAA games recently

28,333,095*11.47*valve's cut(30%)=~100 MM

That is impressive. Did I fudge the math somehow?

yeah I fudged it. Steam doesnt sell all the cd-keys oops.

Considering the high revenue from digital, I wouldn't be surprised if revenue wise, PC is the 2nd platform for MGS V.

Probably should add a note GZ was given with MGS V (only for preorders?) so most of it isn't likely to be a separate purchase.

MGS1 and 2 were also released on PC back in the days but yeah MGSV did great.

Sorry, I meant Steam.

Worth noting that Ground Zeroes is currently around 584000 copies. Which means that not only did TPP do better in one month but the fact that pre-orders came with a free copy makes the difference pretty crazy. A lot of people not claiming their's presumably.

Surprised LTD for MGS V exceeds GZ by 100K, only thing I can come up with is folks playing GZ on console and V on PC.

It will be exactly because it released early on consoles so a lot of people didn't double dip. This clearly shows the difference when releasing a PC game day and date with the console versions.

Yep, seems like they have priced it as a budget game at quite a few retailers, and have been rewarded with a high volume of sales.

Yeah I mean even being incredibly conservative and saying they are only getting on average $30 per sale thats still over 10 million dollars in revenue in only a month for the port. Not bad at all

Great sales all around. Undertale and Soma did good, too.

Many places have had Mad Max at discounted prices. Has anyone actually paid full price for it?

A lot of people, i would guess. I don't think the majority of sales from these release comes from anything other than Steam (in which i mean that key redemeeding is not the main method of sale)

I could be wrong, of course.

A lot of those 670k+ sales are from NVidia bundles and that shouldn't include GZ

Eh, i don't really think that Nvidia bundles represent a significant portion of sales. I would guess that they can near 50k, but not anything more than that.

So happy TPP did well (I bought it on PS4)

Even sales volume I expect PC to be 2nd, maybe not now, but eventually it will be 2nd.

Yesss good MGSV sales. Hopefully it might encourage them to push MGO forward!
I want to dream

I think Konami themselves could learn a lesson from this. Like maybe the LA studio should take over future PES PC ports.

At the first 50% sale, that's expected. I could see it sitting at 2m or even 3 in the long run.

Yeah, I can see it doing 2m after a few years of sales, I always expected it to do better than XB1 since Steam is more receptive to Japanese games in general, but I also overestimated the PS3 version & I thought it would be 2nd, I think PC will easily be the #2 platform for this game.

Terarria still selling lots really surprised me, thought the hyped died down for that game years ago. Then again it does go on sale for like £1 so suppose some buy it for no reason.

Really nice to see MGS V
even though as an mgs fan i was dissapointed in it
do well too show more publishers that there games should be on PC

Even if 170k of these were from Nvidia bundles (which is a generous estimate) that would still put it at 500k, which is great.
I was talking about the discrepency between GZ sales and TPP sales.

I don't think most of the sales came from bundled software but a good portion did. Nvidia certainly sold more than 100k 950, 960, 970, 980 and 980ti cards with a free copy of MGSV

Worth noting they were also swapping Arkham Knight codes for TPP codes if you requested.

Well, the promotion ran for a month. Also, I think 950 wasn't included.

Terarria seems to always get good store visibility too. It's essentially a permanent fixture in the "under $10" heading, Valve probably also features it (in part) because they don't have Minecraft.

Terraria got a big update not so long ago. The CCU even jumped up to over 100k at that time.

Only from a couple of retailers. The vast majority of people who got Arkham Knight were unable to get a TPP code.

I believe it's pretty much only sales that determine whether a product gets featured there, so it gets featured because it keeps selling.

those mgsv numbers don't seem that impressive given these are worldwide stats

for comparisons sake, the game has sold almost 550k in japan alone where consoles are moribund

MGSV is performing in line with historical averages for the series in Japan, the fact is that PS4's a failure means little when this specific series is still selling like it did on PS2.

Do you have a link for that? Pretty sure it's sold just over 3million worldwide and 700k of that is on PC alone. That's not bad at all.

What? Its plenty impressive, and considering how much more money per copy sold a dev / pub sees on PC its damn good.

PC is likely the 2nd best selling sku globally.

Exactly. Its a pretty significant chunk of sales
