In June, we announced the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows as part of our commitment for designing Xbox accessories to support both Xbox and Windows. Today, we’re excited to share that we’ve started to ship to retailers in most markets around the world, including the U.S.

With the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows, you’ll simply plug the Adapter into the USB 2.0 or 3.0 port of your Windows 10 PC laptop or tablet and bind the Adapter to your Wireless Controller to enable the same gaming experience you’re used to on Xbox One, including in-game chat and high-quality stereo audio. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows accommodates up to eight controllers per unit, and up to four chat headsets or two stereo headsets.

If you haven’t had a chance to try game streaming just yet, check out these step-by-step instructions. And be sure to try some of this year’s blockbuster games with built-in controller support including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, and Fable Legends.

The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows will be available for $24.99 USD (MSRP) or bundled with an Xbox One Wireless Controller for $79.95 USD (MSRP).

So it's available today on the Microsoft store, and shipping to stores today so it'll be available on Amazon and brick and mortar stores later this week.

It's already released in Canada according to Microsoft (though I can't even find a hardware listing for it on their Canadian store yet), but the American one is still listed as releasing today, so it shouldn't be too long now.

Also: Great to get reconfirmation that Gears Ultimate is still coming this year for PC.

Yes, it works on the Xbox One controller already via USB

Stupid Gamestop showed today on the app and when I went to Gamestop to pick this and Guitar Hero up little shit behind the counter talked to me like I was an idiot for coming a week early. Almost wanted to slap him until his manager came up behind him and apologised saying it was just updated.

Does anyone know the deal with the Elite controller & this adapter? I want to pick up an Elite for PC gaming eventually but I already have an Xbox One controller. I would order this but if this Elite has another way of wireless connectivity I'll just skip it and go for the Elite. I imagine I'll need it for the Elite too, though.

I'm almost positive I've heard or seen that this will work with the elite, hold on though, let me find a link.

Yeah, I went to Gamestop expecting to pick it up and they said the 27th. Best Buy also says the 27th as well as Amazon as you pointed out. On Xbox.com is says it is out today, but there is no button to order it. Very weird. I put in a order with Amazon, so will get it whenever they get it.
