#1
This needed it's own thread!
Coming this winter in Japan. Edit: Seems like it's based on SimCity 3000 and coming from EA. The developer is still unkonwn atm though. Last edited by jj984jj : 08-30-2006 at 05:38 PM. |

Wishlist:
1.) Model it after the Super NES version and KEEP IT SIMPLE. 2.) Make the menus and whatnot fast and easy to get in and out of. Also: don't put a bunch of stupid logos and crap at the start of the game. I want to be able to start the game and get into it quickly, especially since it's a portable game. Otherwise, I'd rather just play it on PC. 3.) Go ahead and just make the game 2D. Don't try to waste any time on 3D shit. 4.) Make the game controllable with the stylus almost all of the time, maybe with an occassional button used here and there when it does a better job than the stylus would do. But certainly don't use all the buttons of the DS or anything crazy like that. 5.) Make sure that zones and whatnot are large enough to be easily seen on the small DS screen and large enough that clicking on it with the stylus won't ever be a problem. 6.) Don't put in 90% of the "innovations" of the post-Super-NES versions. |

And we come full-circle, as the DS gets pretty much the original non-game.
That said, cool. I agree it should be like the SNES version--and would add that it can't be over $25. Probably not even over $20, for that matter. |

The thing is, SimCity was simple enough that anyone could get into it and have fun. Starting with SimCity 2000, there was so much more going on and so much micromanagement that casual players are very turned off and overwhelmed. I personally like the relaxed nature of the original, while in 2000 I found myself constantly out of money or my city deteriorating because I just couldn't keep up.
