i thought they they were saying that trailers etc. were using ingame-assets. anway. from what we've seen so far this game doesn't look much different from this CG/whatever-intro.

Ingame assets is a pretty way to say that they're using the same art but its not rendering real time, which is all that matters in a racing game.

well, if they're using the ingame-models than it's at least an indicator for geometry and details used in the game.

Those intro models had virtually no poly edges, a far contrast to the in-game models. Cars reflecting off of each other is also no in-game afaik.

Developers often have higher poly-count versions of their models for use in cgi.

So it seems that photomode has huge amounts of AA. I am so down with that.

*Crosses fingers hoping the final game looks substantially smoother in motion that those Jeux France frame buffer grabs*

The aliasing is still there. Just look at the top of the Porsche. The jaggies just aren't noticeable because they were shrunken down from their original size.

Here's some new wallpapers too.

When previewing the new Dashboard update (coming next week) Microsoft is adding what they are calling "experience" pages for games. The one they had mocked up was for Forza 2, with links to content and embedded streaming videos. I wonder if some variation of this site will go up on Marketplace before the game ships, after the update.

Not unless you want to be counting the tulies, upside down in the dirt on the side of the road; or can't help it :).

Game looks fantastic; and to me, the NYC screens are awesome. More importantly, according to all descriptions, it should be a great racing sim. Unless they chucked out the "DNA" from the original Forza, seems 360 owners can't go wrong picking this up.

The "engineer" section of http://experience.forzamotorsport.com provides a (nearly) comprehensive list of mod types (the best we've yet received).

The site explicitly says there are 29 types of modifications. However, it only lists 23:

* Engine and Power
1. Intake
2. Exhaust (new: formerly included as part of intake)
3. Ignition (new)
4. Fuel System (new)
5. Cams and Valves (equivalent to FM1's "NA Tune")
6. Engine Block
7. Intercooler
8. Turbocharger

* Platform and Handling
9. Brakes
10. Springs and Dampers (equivalent to FM1's "Suspension")
11. Anti Sway Bars (new - formerly included as part of suspension)
12. Transmission
13. Clutch
14. Driveline (new - this must be the drivetrain swap (i.e. Greenwalt's example of the AWD Integra with the CR-V drivetrain))
15. Differential
16. Weight Reduction

* Tires and Rims
17. Tire Compound
18. Tire Width (new)
19. Rim Size (new - used to be part of tire compound/type)
20. Rim Style

* Body and Aero
21. Front Bumper
22. Rear Wing
23. Rear Bumper

That's 23 of 29. My guesses for the other 6 are:
24. Supercharger
25. Flywheel
26. Roll Cage
27. Aftermarket Hoods
28. Aftermarket Side Skirts
29. Window Tint

I agree...I like DR's secret ones that hinted at what you had to do.

But these ones could perhaps be a bit predictable, there's only 3 of them...ie. collect ALL cars.

I very much prefer that system because a) you can tell which secret achievements other people have, even if you haven't completed them. b) based on the picture/name you have some idea as to what the achievement is related to
