will update post with more pickups shortly

I got this Reverse Flash figure at Target today. He's part of Mattel's new DC Multiverse 6 inch figure series. I'm still looking for the Flash figure. There's also an Arrow figure, and a Supergirl figure should be out soon, too. I also have the Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman figures from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice from the series, which I got back in January when these all started to come out.

A nice little selection of pickups from the past couple of weeks:

H64JJa5.jpg

The Hyrule Warriors Legends CE guide
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Kirby Triple Deluxe for 3DS
One of the 20th Anniversary PlayStation SteelBooks and a copy of Shovel Knight, double-dipping with the digital copy that I already have on Wii U
Homeworld Remastered Collection for Steam redemption

And then the biggie - a new gaming-standard laptop, a significant upgrade from my four-year-old Dell XPS 15

i7-6700HQ, 16GB RAM, GTX 965M, 1TB HDD+120GB SSD... this might (hopefully should) get me back into PC gaming properly for a bit!

I'm very jealous! I have a Majora's Mask New 3DS XL, so can't justify buying the Hyrule Edition as well, beautiful though it is. That, presumably you'll be playing A Link Between Worlds for the first time, which I'd love to be able to experience for the first time again.

Enjoy!

Thanks!

It felt pretty surreal driving it after over a year of discussing it on forums, fussing over options, finalizing the color and design, reading reviews, and watching YouTube videos.

Wow, that's crazy. I was also thinking of either the 2016 Carrera/Carrera S or a Cayman S/GT4 a couple months ago as well. I ended up getting a new Porsche Cayman for my mom and a used Porsche Boxster for myself. That GT4 is a beautiful looking car. Congrats! I always wondered if there were other Porschephiles on Neogaf.

Didn't you also buy Porsche Cayman GTS a while back? If so, that was a beautiful car, which I personally find even nicer than the GT4 in appearance (not a big fan of spoilers that can't be retracted on sports cars).

Damn, Porsche better keep manual as an option by the time I'm in the market for one. I don't want any of that PDK nonsense.

So I've used the manual, tiptronic, and PDK sticks. They're all fantastic. I don't think you can go wrong with any one of them. Weekend drives? Manual. Daily driver? PDK. Both fantastic.

What a beauty! I'd love to own a porsche one day :D

Honestly, I never thought I'd own one. I hadn't even considered it beyond a few months ago. I drove an old car for many years (Camry that's coming up to be almost 20 years old). I thought maybe it's time update to a Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc. Clearly, these cars are better than my Camry. But after test driving each of them extensively (BMW 3/5 series, MB C350, Jag XF, etc.) they weren't so good that I wanted to upgrade from my Camry (I know, I'm crazy). But...then I tried a Porsche 911 and Cayman. These were so fun to drive. I didn't care about practicality anymore. They are amazingly fun cars to handle around turns and on windy roads. Totally worth saving up for.

I bet. Hoping to get my first Porsche later this year too!

Which one are you considering? You can't go wrong with any of them, from the Boxster, to the Macan S, to the 911. Expensive, but amazing cars.

Who's gonna top a Porsche? Good looking car! You should get an EA license plate for laughs.

I'll get some pictures up but I got a pair of Q701s and a couple of games so far.

Any EA license plates you would recommend? I hadn't thought of this and I'd like to express my love of games in some way on my car. I think EA license plates would be a perfect way to express this for people "in the know" in games!

I still remember a few years back some guy put up a Ferrari. Rich gaf stays hidden for the most part.

Gouken's Ferrari from 2011

I remember that. It was really nice. However, I don't think you "need" to be rich to own a Porsche. I think they are reasonably priced and are surprisingly practical for a sports car. If someone can't get a new Porsche, then a used Porsche can be affordable. Many Porsche I saw recently used were well taken care of since many Porsche owners are collectors. And even better yet, they are more reliable and last longer than most other German manufactureres (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc.).

What brand is that laptop? Seems like a custom build and am curious about the cost and where you got it built. Also how's the battery life, weight and keyboard/trackpad?

I am sure they will keep manual around for a while. Porsche has a very strong enthusiast following. That's the reason the manual only GT4 sold out the day it was announced.

Believe in yourself and you will!

Thanks. The last Porsche I bought in June of 2015, I posted a joke on GAF that I got it because I couldn't drive one in Forza. Then like the next day, they announced the Porsche DLC for Horizon 2. lol

I also had a BMW M3 plate on it to troll people.

Nice. Congrats on your pickups as well. You should post pics in the AutoGAF community thread.

Yeah, I bought a Cayman GTS 9 months ago. It was an interim car until the GT4 got here, and I fucking loved that thing. It was an easier to drive street car, and actually think it got more attention because of it's red color. I recently drove it 2,200 miles from Southern California to Chicago and it performed flawlessly.

Wow, those are fantastic shots. I never liked Guards Red, but I think it looks fantastics on the GTS. Looks like a mix between Porsche sports car design and a bit of a Ferrari-exotic look. The Porsche Cayman I got is Deep Blue Metallic. Since the car is for my mom, I haven't taken any pictures of it in nice vistas. I also don't have an image hosting website, but I'll see if I can set it up in the future.

Is the AutoGaf community pretty big? I remember asking some people in it about Jaguar XE, BMW 3/5 series, and Mercedes C class months ago.

That's actually Carmine Red. It's a much more pure blood red than Guards. Here's a better picture of it:

AutoGAF is cool. There's a bunch of regulars who post often. I've met up with a few in real life.

And you don't need professional shots. Just snap some pics with your phone and toss them on Imgur.com. That's what I do.

I didn't need to be reminded! Damn nice car still.

Porsches are stupidly priced here in Australia, like most things really but Porsche take it to a whole new level of price gouging.

Ordered a Dreamcast and a few games last month.. console hasn't arrived yet, but ChuChu Rocket and Sega Bass Fishing came today! \o/

I've never even seen a DC in real life before so I'm pretty stoked. :d

Also, Bleach OST 2 & 4. These aren't my favourites (1 and 3 are by far the best) but I'd like to own the whole collection.

Yep, it's a custom build, from PC Specialist (UK-based) in a Clevo chassis. I've been taking advice over in the gaming laptops thread here (post #4694 onwards), which you might find it useful to take a look at. Total cost was just over £800, without an OS.

I'm still in the process of getting it fully set up and haven't had the chance to put it through its paces yet (I didn't have the OS until today), so can't give a full comment, but the build quality seems great so far; in terms of weight, it's about 2-3kg - far from an ultra-portable, but it's intended primarily for home use so is fine for my purposes.

This is the full spec, if of interest:

Been obsessively buying headphone related stuff, most recently picked up a Magni 2 to replace my Little Dot I+. Money well spent, since I don't have to deal with tubes anymore, it provides more power, and it's just overall better sounding.

I should be satiated for the moment.

Was looking for some other games but couldn't find them, so I ended up picking up these for some reason. No idea if they are any good (well, aside from Harvest Moon), and I doubt I'll even have time to play them all lol.

I saw this fun little Nei figure in IrishNinja's awesome Genesis collection and decided I wanted one too. Thankfully there was one for a few euro's on eBay so I went ahead and got that and here it is! Not everyday you see Phantasy Star II toys.

Mario Pad for $9 at best buy. The peach one I got weeks ago for my daughter seems alright and I would have got the yoshi one but they had none.

Intuos Photo - I have an intuos 3 from years ago and this thing seems like it is better but a 3rd of the price of that one. Nice for travel.

Foot prints of our first dog that we had to put down when I was away for work. Sucks but at least I wasn't here for it. We knew it was her time and my wife being a vet tech person had to deal with the brunt of it. Got a new puppy weeks ago though so that helps soften the blow. I still hold the door open when bringing them in from the backyard waiting for the Corgi we no longer have.
