CoD: Infinite Warfare "future offer"... Beta incoming?

I just got an email from Amazon (after pre-ordering Infinite Warfare yesterday morning) with a 13 digit code to redeem for a "future offer in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" (this is all the email says about it.) It directs you to callofduty.com/redeem, has you sign in with your video game provider credentials, input your code and choose your console. When completed, it gives the following message:

THANK YOU FOR ENTERING YOUR CODE! YOU HAVE BEEN REGISTERED FOR A FUTURE PRE-ORDER OFFER. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR EMAIL FOR MORE NEWS.

This looks very much like the Beta process from last year for Black Ops 3. Interesting that they wouldn't just announce the beta, but instead send a cryptic code out...

Has anyone else received such a code from any other retailers?

This thought came to my mind as well...that would be awesome! I did pre-order the Legacy Edition. Has anyone received this from Amazon after reserving the standard edition? (I don't know why the fuck you would do that to yourself...CoD4!!!!)

Edit 1: Ah you have to redeem it through their site first.
Edit 2: preordered the legacy edition.

Yes, people really need to realize this is a very easy thing to do (even if you don't cancel right away.) Again, Amazon does not charge you until the game ships! Pre-ordering is completely free!

Yep, I've done this so many times for Beta codes from Amazon. Even using an expired Debit Card, just "update" the expiration date. That way if I forget to cancel the order, they don't charge an actual card and they don't ship the game. It has happened once before, forgot to cancel a game order and got notified that they couldn't ship the game and to update payment details.

That is a very good idea! I remember in the CoD beta last year, so many people were in the code begging thread trying to get a code, when they could have very easily preordered and got like 3 of their own.

Just received this as well...nice!

Hope it's a beta. I just preordered the 80 dollar version, whatever that is.

XBO here though, wonder if this will be behind some timewall.

The balance of the specialists definitely changed quite a bit from the time the beta went live to the time the game was released. It also allowed them to do an initial balance of the guns in both damage and recoil. Sure, they were balanced quite a bit in the first few weeks months as well, but I think that it sped the process up compared to the pervious balance cycles.

How much time was there between the similar e-mail for BO:3 and the actual beta?

I don't see any cod developer having the balls to put out a beta except Treyarch. If its bad word out mouth could hurt the sales and Inf Ward/Sledge Hammers last game was bad.

Yeah, I do agree, especially after what a train wreck Ghosts (IW's last game) was...arguably the worst CoD game ever. Then again though, I think the BO3 beta did a lot to restore people's faith in the game from how hated the previous 2 were.

I remember being SUPER sketchy of BOIII's multiplayer until the beta. That's what sold me on it.

I'd love to have a beta for Infinite, it could do a lot of good for the multiplayer at least.

Well there is the confirmation from other retailers that are not Amazon. I love that the text on the scratch box says "Beta" but all over the card it just refers to "future offer."

This whole thing is going to be a clusterfuck. Why didn't they announce the Beta from the get go? Probably to save for an E3 reveal. But now people who pre-ordered early are not going to have gotten codes.

They sent it to me yesterday about 24 hours after I ordered, but last year, they pretty much came within a few minutes after you pre-ordered once everything got rolling.

Just got my code in my email from Amazon, but its invalid -_-

edit: Oh its because they sent me an Xbox One code when I preordered the PS4 version... interesting.

Never mind, I didn't have my PS4 account linked.

Yeah I think the BO3 beta was in...July? August? Something like that. It was announced when the game was announced iirc.
