$300 might be the 8GB 480
I really don't think so, but you know as much as I do right now.

So the CEO of AMD just referenced a $300.00 card too.
Wonder what that one is.
Edit: As well as a $100.00 card.
Holy Shit. Might jump on this. As an Australian, would I be able to put together a decent build with one of these for sub-$1000? If so, that's tempting. Build an okay PC now, and upgrade to a HBM2 late next year.
Even at a 100% Australia Tax it'd be $400 AUD, which is kinda mental.

That seems to be weaker than a 970 and on par with a 390X.
It looks like 4GB is 199$ and 8GB version is 249$. The >5 TFLOP number doesn't seem that high, which means they're clocking fairly low compared to Pascal, which is a bit concerning. I can easily see how Nvidia's GP106 might just sweep over P10 in no time once it launches.
Hopefully Vega will come in October like rumored, and AMD actually manages to raise those clockspeeds to compete with Pascal in the high end.
$199 for an 8GB card and I would've been impressed, but not a 4GB card. Doom was averaging in the 70s and i'm guessing they are running at 1080p. That seems to be weaker than a 970 and on par with a 390X.
I believe the 1060 will be priced around the RX 480.
Could probably do it for about $700. Off the top of my head though.
150 Watts is unfortunately high.
Huh?
And then you also complain about the 4GB thing?
I hope 970 owners are ready for stellar DX12 performance with their 4GB/no async compute cards. :/

I'm looking at 2 benchmarks and the 970 beats the 390X.
We have exact numbers for Neo: 4.14TF. It's twice as many compute units clocked higher at 911Mhz.

The hell kinda benchmarks are you looking at?
ummm is it me or the video they show with ash the 480 seem to be at lower setting ? texture seem off
Remains unknown, and it will be until we get proper benchmarks. I could speculation on the possibility that more transistor budget has been given to execution resources outside the shaders. We won't know until the actual benchmarks on the 29th, but how much of a utilization improvement will the new geometry and shader hardware are people expecting? So far it in this thread it doesn't seem like people are expecting much.
I have a r9 280, I wonder if this would be a worthy upgrade? That price seems too good to be true.
Clockspeeds have not meant anything in a direct comparison between Nvidia and AMD for a long time. Neither has flops.
The 290x is rated at 5632 Gflops.
$400 for a GPU in Australia, what is this 2009?
Any idea roughly how better this will be compared to my r9 290?
It won't be noticeably better than the r9 290, it should be in that ballpark. Wait for benches at the end of this month, but don't get your hopes up.

If that is the ballpark performance that this card is hitting, then it should make for a pretty good entry level graphics card for those who don't want to spend a lot of money.
Yep, this card raises the bar of the entry level significantly, which is very good. But it looks like it won't be a competitor to the 1070&1080.
How much of a jump would be from a 280X?
Doom and gloom for AMD, not nVidia. What was the doom and gloom for the 1080/70? I thought people were pleasantly surprised, minus the Founders Edition BS.

Not really... Rumored specs put the "PS4K" at around 3.6-3.8 TF, not 5.5.
That's a dumb thing to say to 970 owners who have owned their card possibly nearly 2 years and have been enjoying the best DX11 performance for all that time lmao

AMD fixed the Doom performance like a day later.
1 Arctic Silver ArctiClean (60ml Kit) $12.00 $12.00
1 Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Mid Tower Chassis Satin Black $109.00 $109.00
1 Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H Motherboard $135.00 $135.00
1 Intel Core i5 6500 $299.00 $299.00
1 Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2133C13 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Black $139.00 $139.00
1 EVGA SuperNOVA G2 Gold 750W Power Supply $159.00 $159.00
1 Arctic Silver 5 (3.5g) $11.00 $11.00
I got this for $850, using an existing 7970 as my GPU.
So if you want something similar to this, plus this card - it'll probably be *just* over. I could've got cheaper RAM/Cheaper PSU, though. Can't really go cheaper on the mobo or cpu though.
