I'm already resigned to have to pay $80 for games on Xbox 3/PS4 due to everyone falling over themselves to buy Gears and Lost Planet collectors editions, don't give them an excuse to bump it up to $100.

The true next generation challenge is camping out and putting down a deposit for something you won't see for months.

Extra points can be earned by paying off in full and letting them earn interest off of your hard-earned money for 12 months.

From a consumer standpoint, yes...it's asinine to pre-order a game that Microsoft knows is going to sell millions. I'd be willing to bet that Microsoft prints and ships at least a million of these for release day.

From a business standpoint, it's basically free money. They get to collect interest on all that pre-order money and it makes their financials look better.

While I'm definitely buying the Legendary Edition, he certainly has a point. Games now start from $60, and these 'extras' that bump those versions to 'Limited Editions' are very often an afterthought used just to bump the price an extra $10. I wish they would at least include a faceplate, theme, and gamerpic pack with it.

I think the Legendary edition will probably be $99 or more... Four DVD's and a Master Chief helmet.

I think I'll end up getting the collectors edition. I hope the only difference between them is the helmet.
