Because CD Projekt is a publicly traded company, it is required to answer shareholder questions. Thankfully there is a thread on their official forums, where investors can do just that. One poster asked, how many people work on Cyberpunk 2077. The answer is music to my ears:

21.Na prezentacji wspomniano, że ponad 100 osˇb z game=devu pracuje nad Gwintem, rozumiem, że reszta pracownikˇw pracuje nad CP2077 (minus wsparcie tech. dla W3)

Translation: "In your recent presentation you have mentioned, that there are over 100 people working on Gwent. I understand that the remaining employees work on CP2077 (minus tech support for TW3)"

Answer:

Nad Cyberpunkiem pracuje obecnie więcej osˇb z gamedevu niż pracowało nad trzecią częścią Wiedźmina w najintensywniejszym miesiącu.

Translation: "There are currently more game developers working on Cyberpunk 2077 than on The Witcher 3 in its most intensive month."

In other news:

- there are no plans to support modding on consoles,
- Steam availability of Gwent cannot be confirmed at this point (although previously confirmed numerous times by Community Managers/devs, eg here http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threa...team?p=2540061 )
- when asked about the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 they replied that "They like to surprise, so they won't reveal it."
- Gwent open beta few months after the closed one, so release probably towards february-march 2017 (my assumption).

If it controls as shit as Witcher 3, I'll skip it. No excuse to release games this ambitious with controls this laughable again. They should absolutely focus more on this.

Cool. Given their ambitions with that game, this would stand to reason.

My most anticipated game ever. I was a huge fan of the pen and paper game in the late 80s and early 90s. Its going to be hard to contain my excitement or keep my expectations in check for this one

Hell yeah. Witcher + Deus Ex, straight into my veins.

I really hope it will be immersive-sim like with fun dialogue like in Vampire Bloodlines.

What are you even talking about? CDPR if you are watching ignore this man and do your thing.

Anyway, this is my most anticipated game. Can't wait till they start showing it off.

The controls were fine. What exactly did you have a problem with?

So the development team will be in full crunch mode for at least the next couple of years? Wouldn't like to swap places with them.

Cyberpunk 2077 could possibly be their R* scale breakout hit. I am looking forward to seeing what it will be exactly, but the teaser and the fact that CDPR are working on it make me excited for it!

Actually with all the focus on guns in this universe, maybe this will be a FPS like Deus Ex. If so, they have to make brand new animations which could be an improvement over witcher 3.

Do we know if this will be tps or fps?

Afaik they said both. But I wouldn't mind if they focused on one or had it be primarily be FPS like VTMB and Deus Ex and just play some melee animations in 3rd person.

Do you actually mean the controls, or the response of Geralt and the lousy combat? Because those aren't the same things.

Hopefully TPS. They even hired a lead designer from Remedy to work on 2077, so it's a prefect match.

There were talks about both views being available but a lot could have changed since we heard first rumours (3 years?), but not long ago there was a job offer on CD Projekt's website for an FPS gameplay designer or something along the lines.

Trying to pick up loot in the game is annoying since it has this thing where Geralt will keep jogging for half a second when you stop moving, and the horse was the most glitchy mess I've ever seen.

Complaints I've had with the controls

I haven't played Quantum Break, but is the shooting in that any good? Because it's certainly only a means to an end in Alan Wake and the Max Payne games.

The controls were fine. The control of Geralt, and his animations however were not.

Not sure if I like the idea of an open world cyberpunk setting. Which is weird, because cyberpunk is my favourite genre, but most of those games I've played are rather isolated -but dense- and I think that has worked the best so far.

I'd much rather have had maybe 3 or 4 different hubs set in different cities in different worlds than one huge world (apparently bigger than Witcher 3?).

Could someone maybe give a tiny summary of the cyberpunk 2077 universe, like what's included?

Is there magic? Supernatural stuff? Or is it entirely "technical"? Is there anything that stands out a lot in comparison to other cyberpunk?

As someone who has never even heard of the RPG this is based off, can someone explain what sets it apart? I'm looking forward to the game as Cyberpunk is a great setting (as in the genre/theme itself), but watching the trailer there didn't seem to be anything that really stood out from a typical Cyberpunk setting.

What about this specific lore makes it more interesting than just a typical generic cyberpunk setting? Why have they chosen to base the game off that rather than just making it up themselves, for example?
