I’m sorry but do game reviewers have a complete misunderstanding of gaming?
This game fricking rocks the face of this planet from its mantle. Its so much fun, its a damned pretty game for me but is so much damn fun, and each level makes you wanna play it over and over. I love the Fiji level a lot. I really hope they make a full on sequel as this game deserves one. |

Someone previously used the word "debacle" to qualify reviews this game got.
I couldn't think of a better one. Breaking news: one of the best racers of these last years just got its 2nd 9/10 review! Last edited by marc^o^ : 03-07-2007 at 12:42 PM. |

I like Eurogamers review it covers everything and gives the game a decent score

I just picked Excite Truck up last night while I was out with my friends to for a little 2-player fun. We only got to play it a bit (time was sucked up by Wii Sports & Play). I got home around 5am and decided to pop it in before bed just to see what the 1 player game was like and ended up playing it for 2 hours straight and I'm now well on my way to unlocking Super Excite. The ability to use your own music really makes a huge difference for me as well. Never having an Xbox, I never got to have a custom soundtrack in any of my games so it's been something I've wanted for a long time. Glad to see I finally can.
Awesome, awesome game. I hope more people are like me who passed on it due to reviews, see all the love in this thread and other online posts and give it a chance. I can't wait to see what they do with Excite Truck 2. |

I got 4 S Ranks on the 1st circuit in Super Excite. I thought I was good... but things get much more challenging this time around! What I love with this game is how the gameplay is renewed with each new car unlocked. Responding to the previous post, knowing Excite Truck is the best wii game, I think your choice is pretty obvious.

Sonic Wii is better than those two games, so if you liked them, I'd say you are pretty safe with Sonic Wii. Wish I had played Kororinpa so that I could be more helpful, because it looks pretty good. Hopefully someone else here has. |

EXCITE TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember when I said, "EXCITE TRUCK!!! is going to be awesome!" and everyone else said "YEAH SPORSK!!!". Then Wii demo kiosks came out and every 2 bit troll this side of el paso said "This game sux! Shit game! Wii sucks!" and reviewers said "This game isn't very good, how do you like my new ascot?" I said, "No, your ascot sucks." A month later I get the game in my hands, and the true power of the awesomeness of EXCITE TRUCK!!! is revealed to the GAF nation. With the help of my brothers Wario and Anihawk, we defeated the demons and conquered the evils. The legions of little warriors out there chanting the name, chanting the name of the chosen one who goes by no name and who's presence beats down even the heaviest wall. They chanted for the warrior to come and deliver them from the madness of ascots and wrong-doing review monkeys. I came down from my chair on top of Odin's grave and preached to the legions, "My children I give to you a game so extreme. A game crafted by the mighty hands of the warriors present and past. I give it to you not just as a game to kill your time, but as a symbol of religious piety and devotion to the way of the warrior." And as I return to my throne on top of Odin's final resting place, I leave these words: "Don't stop believin'." Last edited by sprsk : 03-12-2007 at 01:20 AM. |

I really love this game but I still think the 75% it has on gamerankings is understandable. While the game is fun as hell, it still lacks a lot of features. So if Excite Truck 2 comes out (please god make it so), and includes better multiplayer, that's when it will get a great score.
My only beef with the reviews out there are when they claim the controls don't work right or make it harder. I'm pretty sure this game wouldn't be nearly as awesome without the Wii Remote. |

Sonic is really rewarding, but you need to put at least 4-5 hours into the game before you get it anywhere near the level when you'll start to have a blast with it, and even then there may be niggles about it that spoil the experience for you. I love it in spite of its flaws, but it's definitely a bigger risk for a gamer than Kororinpa (slender but fun) or Excite Truck (just ****ing sublime).

argh i can't get an S rank on the last ****ing race grrr
the star system makes the multiplayer pretty weird... my friend often beats me because he goes off a jump and totally gets lost and accidentally goes on like 4 super tree runs... the super tree runs bug me because sometimes you'll go on an OBVIOUS super tree run yet get nothing, and then other times you'll just miss 1 tree during a drift or something and get a 5 star super tree run |

oh man just beat the last race with an S class rating, **** that was AWESOME
doing tree runs ****ing everywhere, blasting the music as loud as possible at 1am i had 213 points in the last section of the last lap, only first place would give me the S class... me and two other cars were rounding that huge drifting corner, my boost was almost up, i slide off the corner, engine is smoking black, so i drift enough to barely allow my rear left tire to just barely touch the ocean, i'm in 2nd place according to the game, my boost engine is refilled, i ****ing jump boost up onto the track and win the race by less than half a second, beating the last race i needed to beat, and now Super Excite is opened ****ing AWESOME |

If you have the patience to overcome a couple of annoyances (not everything is explained well, the hedgehog controls like a pig in the beginning) it gets better and has a modicum of multiplayer. Excite Truck will entertain you from the first moment up to when you will have enough of it, and then lure you back as even the most basic track has plenty of opportunities to improve your score again and again. OTOH, there's little to do beside the main races and the multiplayer is forgettable. Both let you unlock tons of stuff. I'm sure you know yourself well and make an educated buying decision (either way). |

I put this back in again today since taking a break from it for a while and it still rocks! The game was kicking my ass for a while and I found my groove again before I finished playing. Odds are I'll be playing it more this week sometime. I love the Wii and without a doubt..love Exite Truck!

God, I hope for an Excite Truck 2.
With twice the number of tracks and environments, 60fps, 8-12 trucks on screen, paint job / decal customisation, more trucks, more challenges, more mid-air tricks, Burnout-esque crashes, a course editor, support for more than 100 mp3s on a SD card, an acceptable default soundtrack and 8-12 player online multi with no or minimal fscking about with friend codes. And I hope Monster Games devs it because they did a great job on the first game, considering how much time they probably had to knock it up. |

I've been trying to get everything completed on this game after unlocking all the modes etc a while back.
I got S rank in all modes and tracks, and all of the trial levels. Still got a few paint jobs to get but I think all that is left are to get green times for all tracks and green for each stunt. Has anyone managed to get a green time for the Diamond Cup level? If so, how? I can't even get anything above a red time. :) |
