Downloaded it, went to ESPN just to see how it looked, and my Wii froze up hardcore.

My Wiimote is completely unresponsive, and the power button on the unit itself isn't working. Gonna have to pull out the AC plug. WTF?

Will my music and stuff stream on my Wii through ORB, even though my Wii doesn't have Windows Media?
Does it play on my laptop and show up on my Wii or something?

wii + google viideo = killer app

I've been playing with the browser and growing to like it more and more as I come to terms with its limitations. Ign weekly on my TV is simply sweet to have

Wish it could play mp3's.

It did okay for me this morning.
Probably an issue with your connection? Or at least it seemed mainly to be US users?

I checked my bank account from my Wii this morning, I hope Nintendo didn’t empty it!

It worked immediately for me, so I guess the server is just getting hammered now.

Hey guys, try clicking on an RSS Feed link in your Wii browser. Here's one to try out:

Well it's pretty hard to read anything at default zoom with hdtv and component and it's tedious to scroll when it's zoomed in, but as other have said it's very fast.

It would be nice to have a level of zoom somewhere between the 2 options we have now and as someone else said, grab scrolling would be preferable to me.

If any one wants to sign up to their IM of choice www.iloveim.com works a treat.

Oh, also it seems to be running in 16 bit mode because images which are smooth on my pc are dithered on the wii, I'm also getting the nice vertical line artifacts.

No, ComedyCentral's Motherload does not work, it neds a newer version of Flash... quite likely 9.0+ while Opera for Wii uses ~8.0.

Before I pay for this the better polish it up. After five minutes of use I've found the following to be the most annoying.:

Slow scrolling.
HUGE bar at the bottom of the page.
It's not full screen.

I don't think it uses 8, trying a video on IGN said I needed to upgrade to it.

I could be totally wrong, and it may have siad you have version 8.0 and need to upgrade. Will check in a bit

cool 'wii' is in the dictionary, but retarded in that it only comes up as an option when you have typed all of it. and 'b' should be backspace. lack of tabbed browsing sucks big time.us

The browser (final version, even) will be free for all until June, according to the press release a week or so ago. I'm guessing June = one of the price drops for the Wii.

A new day has dawned in the world of video gaming -- I am watching pr0n on my Wii.

I don't believe it. I mean, I know the 360 already let you view video files, but the Wii is the first system to be able to stream pr0n right off the Internet (in a limited capacity, I know). Who'd a thunk it?

Someone needs to reg Wiiporn.com

i tried Google Video also, it worked fine, but the video i played stoped at 20 seconds in, and it was almost a 2 min video.

it seems the Wii browser can only play videos that last less than 30seconds. or it might depend on the compression/file size.

Think about how silly that would be. It's probably a browser connection issue or something.

It's pretty fast at loading pages, but its just way too annoying to use much IMO.

Navigation is very tedious - the text is unreadable unless you're zoomed in but then when zoomed you are constantly scrolling to read stuff and it's just a pain. The navigation bar at the bottom is pretty big and takes up valuable screen real estate (which means even more scrolling!).

It's also pretty buggy when it comes to flash related stuff, at least for me. Some things work and a lot of things don't. I've tried a few Youtube clips and they all seem to just stop a few seconds into it. Also had it freeze up on me twice now. It's a trial/beta version though so I can't complain much about that kinda stuff.

Most of these problems are usually connections timing out or being disrupted.

Try reloading the page again... other users have posted that it worked eventually.

I've been watching the first preview of FF XII which is about 1:30 minutes long and have no problem. On the other hand, one of the flash refuse to play and give me the mesage to update the flash player.

how disappointing is this?
its opera, but no decent reformatting of the screen.us normal view is unreadable, zoomed in is too close. the stupid bar at the bottom needs to go (just press a damn button or hover over the bottom of the screen).
and the scrolling is shit. should be able to drag it around or something.
my search for gaf-browsing from my sofa continues...

Has anyone else tried microsoft.com, msn.com or hotmail.com? When i enter any of these it just sits there and never loads! I was suspicious until xbox.com loaded fine!

Yeah, I'm having the same problem with YouTube videos. They'll just stop out of nowhere and go all the way back to the beginning >;(.

Otherwise, however, this will come in mighty handy for a good number of things even if it's no replacement for a normal terminal.

that first part is good to hear, i'll try that and more videos to get a better idea of what the real limits are. im sure this browser is not using the newest flash but probably one several versions older than the latest.
