Nice hold for the Switch, only down 4k is nice given the slow week. Oh, and 600k since launch, I see.

Is it due to a bad week or is it still supply constrained?

Nintendo will have preorders up tomorrow on their site. Other than that online preorders have been non-existent all week.

Slow week and barely a drop for Switch, demand still strong.

Yeah, supply is still constrained, so this is the best result they could get this week.

I expected the Switch to drop a bit harder.

Also I'm still kind of in disbelief at how badly the Musou brand has fallen. I mean I expected it to crater years ago and when it didn't I thought it would hold at okay-ish numbers for each entry forever.

Looks like switch is selling whatever supply is provided. PS4 hasn't dropped much for a slow week. Hope it doesn't go below 20k

Time to bring out that vita successor Sony ;).

FFXV was hurt by fan reception. Its a great game but everything fans wanted. Nothing outstanding.

I would say DQ11 PS4 will outsell it most likely.

That would have it competing with the 3DS version's numbers. Don't think anyone would expect that considering the install base and sales of previous franchise entries.

Oh hey look Zelda is almost at 500k already. I few more weeks and it will be there. Seems like it will very handily beat that benchmark. I remember some people saying that be unlikely and 500k being roughly where it'd end up at.

Wonder if it will beat FFXV at retail after all is said and done.

It's been holding 4-5K for a while now. It'll hit 100K before CY end.

Gah. Vita fading into obscurity much more rapidly than I expected. Shame. Probably won't hit 6m this year.

Nice for Switch though.

Seems like a decent hold for the Switch. Is the 6th week on the market where both the PS4 & Wii U took a dive?

My prediction for the 3DS PS4 for 2017 going to be blown away. I wasn't expecting both to be up by such margins YOY compared to 2016.

Code:

| System | 2017 | 2016 | 2015 |
+---------+---------+----------+--------+
| 3DS | 458.717 | 444.364 | 682.931 |
| PS4 | 537.301 | 406.569 | 423.057 |

FFXV at retail is way higher. It's pretty much expected for Zelda to dry up its sales pace when other heavy hitters will be on the market.

Mario kart will give it a chunky hair cut but I'd imagine it'll still have decent steady sales for most of the rest of the year

I agree.

Zelda is an evergreen launch title for the switch much like many of such titles on the 3DS it won't dry up simply because Mario Kart and Splatoon launch because they serve an entirely different genres and sets of users who likely won't buy the console just for one game. Even a year down the line if your picking up the switch you'll probably end up picking up Zelda too at one point. We'll see in a few years down the line but I think it'll be far more competitive than your expecting.

I think it will desappear from the charts from early May on, but the Switch version will come up again (with low sales, of course) once the Story DLC will be released and detailed (and we'll discover that new dungeon/story content in the narrative of the game)

Not early May. Maybe early June. It will be selling at least 5-6k for a while, which will put it in the top 20.

It's hard to say what will happen with Mario kart. It will take over as the big seller on the switch but I'm assuming Nintendo will have increased supply around its launch. If HW sales go up we might see Zelda selling more each week even if the attach rate starts dropping.

We are talking a low bar for the top 20 of under 5k, assuming switch sales keep up i cant see zelda having a problem staying over that til late summer at the earliest

There is no reason for Zelda to disappear from the charts when Switch is the only system that will sell respectable amounts of hardware next nonths until July.

Selling more will be unlikely but could hold up better than i expect but if the stock dies increase then will probably blow away a couple of the predictions above

Yep. MK8D, Arms & Splatoon 2 are all multiplayer focused games. Zelda is the perfect complementary big solo experience.

Now that I think more about it, MK8D may actually boost sales of Zelda for Switch. Having a popular system seller sometimes help other older games on the system get some attention.

Edit: Also, with DLC coming up until the holidays, we'll see BOTW get constant promotion on commercials and Directs.
