There is two version for graphics, the classic, and the 'enhanced' version. If you ask me, the enhanced version is ugly to the extreme, but the classic version looks schweet old-school!

I think I had Double Dragon II on the nes.

They did a decent job on the enhanced version but the black dude looks a bit retarded...then again he wasnt exactly...normal in the original.

Oh man, that enhanced photo is horrible. I laughed.

I could never understand why Double Dragon didn't allow two player co-op play on my NES. It frustrated me to no end. I may have to actually download this one. $5 is more than worth it for old school beat 'em up action.

I hope you are referring to the online co-op portion of this port and not the "enhanced" graphics.

$5 (400pts) is a pretty fair price for the added online co-op and graphical upgrade version imo. I'll most likely buy it.

I'm referring to the online PLUS the fact that it displays correctly on an HD set. They haven't grasped how to do that yet.

If I buy this I will play in classic, the "enhanced" mode looks too clean and a bit dodgy for my tastes.

Dunno - nostalgia is powerful. The new visuals look fine to me, though the old version has some old-school charm. Either way, the $5 price + online co-op are the draw for me.

There's something very queer about the new look.

Then again I love pixels and I never enable 2xSai or bilinear filtering or whatever that crap is when I play on emulators.

Buh? I don't think anyone has suggested Nintendo should update the grahpics of their classic games. A nudge towards what we take for granted in the current generation of gaming, such as graphics that scale for HD sets or online play, would be very nice, though. The difference between the two services: Nintendo expects people to rebuy old games; MS expects people to buy updated version of classic games. Sure, I'll buy games like Earthbound that I have never played before, but I'm more likely to buy an updated version of a game I grew up loving than another copy of a game I already own.

Bleh... enhanced looks like a crappy flash game. Good price, though.

The difference is one's based on the arcade version, has online co-op, and you have the option of using the new graphical style, while the other (if it's ever released) will be based on the horrible NES version without any additions.

And both will cost $5 (or $8 if the Genesis version ever comes out).

Is the game purely DD1, or a mishmash/update or sorts like the GBA version? I've bought so many copies of this series that it's getting embarassing.

Enhanced mode looks sweet and the price is oh so right.

How did they do the enhanced version? I'm assuming they had to redraw each one of the sprites for that. Seems like an awful lot of work to put in.

I hope its a res upgrade plus a frame upgrade, tweening between the frames for some nice smoothness would make a big difference.

Meh. Cool in theory, but you can win this game just using one move over & over again. Elbow move FTW.

I like the enhanced version. After playing many old-skool games on my HDTV, enhanced is the only way to go to get rid of the pixels.

Still, they've obviously put a lot of effort in to making an enhanced version, so I think everyone should give it a try just to be fair. :)

And again - having the option is certainly the best way to appeal to both the graphics purists and the people who don't like their pixels visible. :D

I like it... it is a fun game to play with buddies and remember the old days... we played this is college in the late 80's... aahhhh, the good ole days...

Can't wait... For some reason I wished this was on the VC though...

I'm not digging the new look.
It looks "fake", photoshopped. It's clean in a way that doesn't make the game more beautifull for some reason.
It doesn't look hand draw enough maybe. It's having this soul-less vectorial look to it...
