Now THATS a $60 game.
I'm not sure which shot you are talking about, but none of them are Metroid...Originally Posted by CrushDance
Is that metroid? Er...I think it may be something else screenshots are to small.
The one that says "portal". I misread the thread maybe? What do you mean by valve on wii OP?Originally Posted by jvalioli

That's a photo taken at EA's event in San Francisco last week. It's the menu screen of an Xbox 360 demo they had set up. Valve originally intended to show off all five products from the Orange Box, but EA made them restrict the demo to Portal.Originally Posted by CrushDance

Valve is the developer behind the Half Life series. One of their games is called "Portal" and it will be released in a Half Life pack this fall. That's what the interview is about. One of the questions in the interview is whether or not Valve is thinking about developing a game for the Wii.Originally Posted by CrushDance

At the end he says they missed the boat on Wii, but they are interested in developing for it now that its selling :lolOriginally Posted by CrushDance

So you put wii in the thread title to mislead us?Originally Posted by DMczaf

Did anyone get to play HL2 on 360 at GDC? How did it run?
Sadly only Portal was shown; EA didn't let them show the other games. Still, Portal ran great and I would be very surprised if HL2 didn't as well. Portal's environments aren't as big as some of HL2's of course, but they're built on the same tech and were likely optimized for 360 fairly simultaneously.Originally Posted by DMczaf

What's misleading? Valve may do something for Wii someday.Originally Posted by Linkup

Yeah, me too. The problem is - the user base is growing so quickly that a lot of people may feel then waiting a bit is not such a bad strategy.Originally Posted by chibcicylist
Excited for it? Then do something about it. At the very least, announce something. Im tired of talk, I want to see some walking.
This goes for $50 games on "new gen" and last gen games too. Amen.Originally Posted by -Rogue5-
Games like Oblivion and HL2 Orange make purchasing any other nextgen ($60) game that much more painful... Bless Valve for showing us how much other games rip us off.

Let's just forget that version ever existed, okay? Once you go Orange, you never go back.Originally Posted by The Black Brad Pitt

if Valve put any effort into a good Wii port, wouldn't it atleast look as good as it would running on the best possible 2004 PC?
It would look like the Xbox version if lucky.Originally Posted by imastalker co.

Whoa what a package, each one of those games is easily worth $30.Originally Posted by DMCzaf
Going by what is known today, I'd say the Wii GPU is similar to a Radeon 8500 wrt performance, at best, which is very 2001-ish.Originally Posted by imastalker co.

In 2002 we saw the ATI 9700 pro and first GeForce FX cards.. Totally reaching. Those cards were already targeting resolutions of 1024x768 and above with decent amounts of fsaa & aniso, which is beyond what is needed for Wii and its 480p resolutions.Originally Posted by Borys
