Amazon just opened up pre-orders for the Legendary SKU yesterday, so that's probably why.
Anyone else read the big article on bungie.net about the making of it? They drop how many are being produced - 450k. A lot at face value, but probably a tiny fraction of what Halo 3 will do out the gates. |

I predicted Halo 2 would outsell San Andreas, and had to eat crow on that. I still don't know how it happened.

I don't know about first day sales, but Halo 3 will probably outsell Halo 2 in the long run. I'll tell you this much....it will generate a hell of a lot more revenue for MS with the way it's going to be priced.
I just wished GTA4 and Halo 3 didn't come out so close to each other. There's deffinitely going to be some cannibalizing of some great games this fall with these 2 juggernauts getting most of the people's money. |

Recently they had Splinter Cell for the xbox 360 at $19.99 and it shot up to the top . . . I hope they are honoring that deal. |

Halo is a phenonemon that I will never understand. Halo 3 will probably be the first in the series that I will actually buy and play for a good amount of time. The combination of next-generation graphics, and my newfound interest in shooters has me excited for this one. On the down low, I'm actually looking forward to Halo Wars even more than Halo 3.

I'll just say that I think most people will be surprised at what this title does, both at launch at long-term. |

I am not so sure people will be surprised because I think most people are expecting it to sell extremely well. In all honesty I was surprised looking at sales charts that the last two did not do that well, this one though I think should get around 1-14 million total and 4 million first month.
