Looks like a pretty cool MGS/SC/Syphon Filter clone. Anyone know anything about the story?

Isn't this already released? Judging by the demo it's a fairly generic, mediocre, standard third person shooter. With the worst writing ever. Judging by the reviews not much was improved for the final version.

I played the PC demo. If you're jonesing for a RE4 style third person shooter and aren't too picky, it's pretty good fun. I certainly wouldn't pay full price for it, however.

One of the worst 3rd-person action adventures of the last few years. It fails in every department. Story, gameplay and even the graphics, while nice and somewhat polished overall, fail to impress due to the terrible, terrible art direction. Do not buy or rent under any circumstance.

And they own IO Interactive, so they rock. The Hitman series and Freedom Fighters are fantastic.

Wow.... that's actually so bad it's amazing. Of course, I wouldn't pay anywhere near $60 for it.

i liked it. the graphics were great, and the enviroments were nicely varied. i didnt go into the game expecting a masterpiece, it was just a fun experience.
well, the demo is out, so i guess everybody can judge for themselves.

The game has huge core issues with things like the AI, level design, and severely dated and now-boring gameplay mechanics. It's just not interesting, and the inane story and characters certainly don't help.

You're way better off going with the market leaders in these kind of games-Hitman, Splinter Cell, etc. if you want to play this kind of game on the PC. A HUGE part of these games is level design, and in that regard Infernal falls completely flat.

The game does look pretty decent, and if you were dumb enough to buy an Aegea PhysX card it makes for a fun tech demo. That's pretty much its most redeeming qualities.

No it's nothing like MGS. It is a straight up action game with shooting mechanics more akin to RE4 (except you can move when aiming). That being said, the game is pretty awful, or at least the demo was.

This is a run and gun shooter with a bit of super powers thrown in. Demo was decent, but I'm not the biggest shooter fan.

exactly, just because you can stand with your back against a wall doesnt make it a stealth game.
compared with Hitman and Splinter Cell, the ony thing that stands out as better is that, at maxed settings, the former two run like shit, and this works like a charm, atleast from my experience. id really like to see the engine get used more, anyone got any details on it?
