To everyone at NOA who is reading this right now, this is unacceptable! CHANGE IT BACK!!!

Wow at Nintendo. They will do just about anything to not enhance the experience of playing VC won't they?

they just want to emulate the actual experience of playing the game as you would have back in the day, what's so wrong about that?

Next will be the flicker in Super Mario World when you get 8 or more turtles or moving coins on the screen at the same time.

let's see...topic posted: 8:44. Downloaded starfox 64 to my wii I bought yesterday: 8:30.

and i think you're wrong. A prime slowdown was when you're trying to go through the tunnel-rings at the end of the first level to go the secret way and I just played it and there was no slowdown. It was actually easier than I remember, and I haven't played the game in almost 7 years.

This is stupid. I don't see why they would do this.
And by the way it's true the slowdown was gone in the VC Starfox 64. (and i sure don't want it back)

If the point of VC is to emulate old games, then they fixed the game by adding back in the proper slowdown that was in the original.

maybe the slowdown fix was causing rare game freezing/crashing. Maybe they'll be another update in the future.

Wish they would have explanations along with the updates though.

They sacrificed true next gen sound with the archaic Dolby Pro-logic II for true GameCube backwards compatibility.

What does this achieve? They're actually pooling resources on stuff like this- surely there must be some kind of glitch that needed to be ironed out too? They (NoE) only patch stuff if people e.mail with concerns as far as I know

Wait, you don't really think that Nintendo would purposefully gimp their game to run slower, do you?

It's just as likely that they fixed some other bug or instability in the emulation that caused the slowdown or something. Who knows.

What? You can still apply filters that clean up the graphics, get rid of slowdowns and still keep the original feel of the game.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY HAVE DONE!!! There were no bugs or instabilities before, it was perfect, THEY HAVE GONE AND GIMPED THE GAME FOR NO GOOD REASON WHATSOEVER!!!

EMAIL THEM AND COMPLAIN, DON'T LET NOA GET AWAY WITH THIS!!!

That must be why all N64 games so far not only did receive fixes for the slowdown but also received double the resolution and 24bit colors?

I see one person screaming at the top of his lungs about framerate drops, and one person calmly stating that the patched game still has better framerate than the original. Gonna call it a tie for the time being.

I dont know if Nuclear Muffin is right but right now he sounds like hes full of crap. Hes the ONLY PERSON on the entire net complaining about this. All other people who have downloaded it havent experienced this so called slowdown. Personally im going to wait for some real confirmation of this not somebody who spams EMAIL NINTENDO ABOUT THIS.

Sorry, what i meant is Nintendo should've give the gamers a choice which version they want to download instead of fixing it exactly the way it was intended to.

Two choices to download:

1.) Starfox 64 VC.... the one everybody likes it before the update patch.

2.) Starfox 64 added with the slown down patch exactly how it played back on N64

I would actually love to have the original slowdown back in. The boss explosions don't seem as "epic" since they're so fast and no longer slow the game down to a crawl like they normally did.
