These figures obviously prove that non-games are destroying the very fabric of the industry.

Why doesn't Nintendo make English Training for other languages? I'm sure a lot of people would like help learning Spanish or Japanese or French, etc. I'm sure parents would be happy to buy it for thier kids as well (which would help sales even more).

Well most of this software, aside from Nintendo's and a few choice other licenses, is selling pretty poorly. Non-games are really not occupying as much of the market as people fear. But the profits are still good for the publishers because the dev costs are just so low.

It's the same way Phoenix Games is still in business. They release total crap (which also usually blatantly steals from Disney), but they still make a profit because it seems like their budgets for these games have to be no more than a few thousand dollars.

Well the English Training doesn't really teach you English, it's more to improve your english. And it makes sense since most people know a bit of English at the least.

I bought it for my gf but she didn't really dig it in the long run, she rather plays Sudoku.

Iriya no Sora is also not on there - I guess it's more a game than educational tool.

How far do people (Gaffers) think Cooking Navi will reach and General Knowledge? I have seen Cooking Navi, messing around near the bottom of the charts for a little while now. It seems to be consistent.

they've got ads for the pedometer 'game' on the subway and stuff.

I got the Kanji kentei game with my DS :D

That stock training game (kabu tore) looks pretty good too, I was thinking about picking it up at the next pay check.

I really need to pick up the dictionary too, would help for meetings at work.

anyway, i'm a Famitsu numbers lover. so i'm not totally interested in these numbers, i'll check if there are some differences :)
