PSN Content 6/7/07 (Resistance DLC & update, and EXCITING videos/trailers)
#1
Content is up for this week.
Resistance updates delayed again. Everybody is surprised. Everybody is mad. Insomniac is not happy. Sony is oblivious. This is living. This is for North America only unless specified otherwise and updated as we get more information. PS Cards are out in Japan. Importers, start your engines! Downloadable PS1 games are region-free. Last week: Folklore - Demo in Japan Store Championship Sprint - $4.99 (another Midway/SOE title) RR7 - Additional content, some for $$$ Some more HOME and WarHawk beta invites went out. This week: Heavenly Sword and Stranglehold Trailer from Gamers Day Another MLB07 Trailer - Trailer #9 Scheduled for June: June 11th: MotorStorm - increased friend list limit to 50 - fixes glitch where it will not display any friends in the list if you have more than 30, see game status and more game details in lobby June 14th: Go! Puzzle MotorStorm - time attack mode - don't know if free or pay, at the moment June 28th: Super Stardust HD Scheduled for June: Resistance - update - WW servers, in-game cheater reporting added, XMB support expanded (you can see friends list in-game on a seperate tab, not an XMB overlay) - free Resistance - Map Pack - the maps will support all multiplayer modes and there will be 8p, 16p, 32p, and 40p versions of the maps - $7.99 You can buy the map packs on the store or in the game. MotorStorm - new track Coyote Revenge, new unlockable vehicles - for $$$ MotorStorm - Japan players getting online play - free Lair - Demo _________________________________________________________________________ Also, take the MotorStorm dates with a grain of salt. The developers have given out numerous dates for when content is coming out and in what region in a variety of different interviews. Don't shoot the messenger if I'm wrong. For help on creating a Japan Store account, go here: http://blogs.ign.com/xheavenxsentx/2006/12/09/39684/ Other things of significance to American/Euro GAFfers on the JPN store: Folklore Demo Hot Shots 5 Demo DMC4 trailers Folklore trailer Virtua Fighter 5 trailers Ridge Racer 7 trailers Gundam Musuo trailer For help with the Media server stuff, go here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158357 _________________________________________________________________________

Sony really, really needs to step up the PSN releases. This making Xbox 360's last spring look good in comparison (at least there were kick-ass demos, especially around E3, while the XBLA team was screwing around).
Also, why the hell don't all PSN games have demos?!? I would be much more likely to purchase CAC if I could try it out first. Super Stardust HD looks fantastic....I hope that comes out soon. |

Go Puzzle is out of course, and June 15th the MotorStorm Time Attack Mode Pack will be released. And that's free of course. But, finally, on June 22nd, us European PS3 owners will get the PSOne titles like Crash Bandicoot, Syphon Filter, WipeOut, Everybody's Golf, Jumping Flash! and Medievil. More titles will be available later. It's about damn time. Too bad it's not until friday night we'll get the stuff. |

Before I bow out of this thread, it amazes me how SCEA is completely uninterested in communicating with its audience. On the other hand GAF has done an amazing job building the community for Resistance and Motorstorm, and weekly threads like this also help to give us an idea of what is on PSN.
Why isn't Sony doing this, and why aren't they mining GAF or other message boards for talented people who could help build the community? Sony really, really needs its Major Nelson... |

Edit: Although it would be nice to have someone to throw tomatoes at occasionally when they screw up lol, i'm definitely guilty of spamming the major's blog in the old days. So when's the prey demo coming out. Last edited by Proc : 06-06-2007 at 05:06 PM. |

I simply cannot believe they are going to charge for additonal Motorstorm content considering I bought the game for its online play and basically got ****ed out of $60...
I let it slide because I knew the extreme pressure to release the game but I also expected them to make it right eventually... I guess with unproven IPs, it really is best to rent before you buy... |

There's SO many other things in a game than a online mode. |

ugh....another week goes by and there are no PS1 games to be seen. I don't understand why they can't release at least 2-3 games a week. Is it really that much work to code them to run from the PS3's HD and on the PSP aswell?
I guess if you want any PS1 downloads you gotta get yourself a JP PSN card and get your games from there, because it doesn't look like the people involved with putting content on the US store are really that interested in doing this for the NA store. Sony is sitting on a goldmine here...Do they not understand this. |
