Seriously since when does a Sales and Marketing from an American branch of a very Japanese company have any say on what Hudson's future plans are.
Not that I want another Bloody Roar game, but I am pretty positive that Hudson Japan makes 99.9% of the decisions in that operation. |

So Bloody Roar is a "throw back to the good old days" and not "even up in our discussion pipeline", but Adventure Island comes in discussions a lot?

Primal Fury was definitely the best in the series. BR4 had some issues, plus slowdown/frame rate drops. I still need to try it on PS3 to see if it gets improved by some slight chance.
But what Hudson SHOULD have said was "Bloody Roar isn't gone. We just lost the developer, since they took the engine and made the Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen games instead."

A game developed in Japan based on what folks assumed the US market wanted. A game like that will never happen again at Hudson because we realize to make games that suit the US market, we have to make sure we get input from US gamers. A hard lesson, no doubt, but one we all are glad to learn from. Japanese companies are opening up. You hear it from the lead producer of Lost Planet, and game developed in Japan with US input. You see it from such companies like Namco. And you are going to see it happen with Hudson. Hudson is old school Japanese. But the market has changed and we are adapting. A game like Bomberman Live is an amazing example. The first Bomberman game ever developed in the US (well, technically US and Canada). In a year's time, every game we plan to launch in the US will have US input into design and development. |

But sometimes, when you try to shake the formula up a bit (well, maybe alot in this case), like introducing New Coke, or Chris Gaines, it really backfires... Even we at Hudson have to call it like we see it. |

I don't know.
Unless they could at least bring the franchise up to. . . VF4 levels of design, meaning finally incorporating proper 3D movement, etc. I really wouldn't want to see another Bloody Roar game. Additionally, this series has the worst track record for removing characters from the series. Why get rid of Fox and Ganesha and yet keep the shitty Yugo and Long clones?! Assholes! |
