New Player Models - The dev team was able to push even more detail into those guys and work on the lighting, they look great.

Tackle animations - As much as I love the old versions of Madden this is a welcome addition to the DS, you can wrap up and get some pretty big hits.

More Multiplayer - Expanded Wireless games to have 8 in one game and added Wi-Fi games. Now wherever you can get a Wi-Fi connection and a DS, you can get a game with somebody.

Redone Kicking controls - Much better this year.

Touch Controls - Player select on Defense using the touch pad and now you can pass to any spot on the field on Offense using the touch pad.

Paper Football - That's right Paper Football, I love this mode. We used to play paper football everyday at lunch time when I was a kid, and to add it to the DS has been a treat for me. Not only is it like the game you know and love, we've added some nice twists you can use in the ultimate mode.

Can you draw your own plays yet with the stylus? That really should be in there.

The continued crappiness of the DS Madden games has puzzled me for some time. Maybe this one will break the trend.

Man, Paper Football is awesome. I wonder if it has tourniment mode for it. In 7th grade, we actually set up a season with like 20 kids and then with the standings, we would have our own playoffs and the winner got like an A on any given paper and he/she didn't have to write it. Even though I didn't win, it was still awesome and lasted like 6 months. Looking back, I guess it probably would have been better if my teacher did something more productive with our time. It was sort of like School of Rock but with Paper Football and our Super Bowl didn't make the parents that excited. My parents never showed up to the Super Bowl but I guess it didn't matter much because I wasn't the one in it and also, they had a drinking problem.

Dammit, am I gonna have to buy a Madden game? :/ I've often been tempted, but paper football might push me over the edge.

I seriously love paper football and no one ever wants to play. They grumble about outgrowing it. :(

I'm sold on the Wii version, and I might check this out again as well.

I've checked even further and it seems that all the DS Sports games are developed in-house now. Great news.

You can't draw/design your own plays in the Wii one, I believe, but there is a Telestrator Mode, which is pretty neat and definitely a step in the right direction.

I think Tiger Woods would come out better than the others thanks to this - it's a lot simpler to make IMO, and a lot simpler to make great (I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being considered a very good game)

EDIT: Then again, Madden 07 was done by EA Tiburon. How good/bad was that one?

This is way more realistic than actual paper. A season with these things and injuries will be part of Paper Football, just like in real football.

Haha we had the same thing only ours was unofficial. I was the league commish and I think I won it all one year.

I remember going to the super mall in Auburn and these dudes were marketing paper football stuff. It was like this foam football in the triangle shape of a paper football, and they also had a little field you could buy. I think I still have the foam football somewhere, it works so much better than the paper ones.
