Will Boogie Bomb?
#1
Even as a unique an original Wii effort I can't help but think that Boogie won't perform as well as many of us would like to see. Has EA been marketing this properly or is the only "hype" generated stemming from GAF's hardcore Wii enthusiasts? EA has put a lot of effort into their Wii games as a third-party, so much so that their software looks like something to look forward to on the platform (except for Playground). So what do you guys think?

Bomb? No. But it might not do as spectacular as some think. The $59.99 price-tag may put off some Wii owners more accustomed to the $49.99 price-tag.

Is one of those commercials the one where at the end the guy turns to the lady and says "playing this is less awkward the that time we tried to have sex"?
Because that commercial is really stupid, especially since it's supposed to be an E for everyone game. |

It won't bomb, but it definitely won't do amazing numbers.
And even more so in Japan (is it being released there?)... |

I never thought this game was going to sell that big anyway. It's a good idea for a game, but in typical EA fashion it isn't developed enough to be a as good as it could be. Add that to the clear-cut kiddie direction and pop-tart song list and you get a whole lot of meh.

I hope it doesn't. EA actually put quite a bit of effort into this exclusive game. They need to pimp it as much as they can with advertising and such. That CG Commercial could be a good movie theater trailer.
They also need to advertise the karaoke part of it more... and that you're paying $10 more because you're getting a microphone with it. |

Depends on what you consider bombing. I'd bet it will sell around 140,000 in its first month at best and then disappear. It'll break even for EA but I just don't see it being a hit.
