360 Connection Woes

I just bought a 360 (I know, price drop lol), but am unable to connect to Live or any of that good stuff. It ran the network test under System/Network Setting and it said it was fine. However, whenever it tries to download the update, it stops immediately and then bumps me back to Dashboard. Is Live just down or am I doing something wrong?

LIVE is being a bitch right now....check it again later when they fix the fucking thing.

It might be down or having some issues with the Live servers. I'm having some issues with my downloads.

I've never had a problem until about 30 mins ago... I can connect OK and see friends but downloading is impossible. Also after failing to connect, my dashboard seems riddled with bugs, where I'm unable to move the cursor or switch blades... although I am able to move around on the Guide, very odd.

Yeah, it's a LIVE problem, Gears locked up three times when the host went to start a game. Marketplace isn't working correctly either.

I'm having problem accessing live too. It asking me to install yesterday's update but can't connect.

Live isn't down (my stranglehold downloads still going atleast ), but it's not working properly at the moment, seems everyone and their brother is downloading Stranglehold and it's clogging up XBL... Every couple of minutes I see someone on my friendlist coming on live so, keep trying or wait it out...

May be it's regional thing.

Having trouble here too. Console tries to connect, sees there is an update, so I tell it to download. Then I get an error stating that I can't connect. Service is fracked right now.

The file downloads themselves are on completely different servers than XBL. Actually it uses llnwd, like gametrailers or 1up.

Very well could be, but while my download is still going I can't access the marketplace at all, and my friends’ list is full of people from around the world, guys USA/UK/Germany/Australia are all online at the moment...

Xbox.com seems to still be working just fine, and it's almost always down when Live is dead...

It would make sense. I connect to LIVE, it tells me I need to update, I try to update and it tries to go to the downloads server only to fail miserably thus not allowing me on to LIVE at all. :(

I'm in a nice loop right now. Live logs me in, tries to download the update from yesterday but can't, exit, login, rinse, repeat.

I was flamed for posting this last time, but this is the 4th week in a row where live has been borked in some sort of way on Wednesday.

Might just be sched maintenance but still it just sucks it seems to be screwed up everytime you wanna play.
