Punishment 2 - The Punishing Released (Indie PC game)
#1
Hey everyone, my friend recently released his game, Punishment 2: The Punishing. And before you need to ask, its free.
The first game was on the "50 really good indie games" list that tigsource.com made last week or whatever. its a very challenging 2D platformer, so if you're up for a challenge, try it out. here's a screenshot of the game: http://www.messhof.com/games/ my friend would appreciate any comments about the game, as well. I got past the start screen and then got stuck in the next room. I hit the switch and then head up, but can't get past the things above. Sound is kind of weird, don't know if it's supposed to be like that.
switch worked now, guess I wasn't fast enough Last edited by Linkup : 08-17-2007 at 05:48 AM. |

Ok, I guess I've figured out the 'punishment' part of the game. There's a switch on the first level labeled Main Switch and every time you beat a level you get the message "Main Switch Out" which means you have to go all the way back to the beginning and re-switch the Main Switch. Of course, re-switching the Main Switch resets all the other switches so you have to replay all the levels again just to get back to the one you were at and then when you beat that level the Main Switch goes out again... Repeat this either until you win or until you succumb to the urges to blow your brains out, whichever comes first.

Yeah, I don't understand why you have to go all the way back to reset the switches...
Great game, but that is absolutely a game killer. You should just have to hit the switches within that level. Not proceed and then have to go all the way back. They gotta fix that, otherwise great game. |

the controls make this game nigh impossible. i never really have a grasp of how high he's going to jump or how fast he's moving, no matter how long i play. the way he slides on the ground whether he jumped two inches forward is ridiculous, as well as the way he slides when you stop moving.

I just wanted to update the thread with some links to press coverage/reactions to the game. I edited them into the first post, but you can also see them here:

I don't ever go there, but its cool that they have taken a liking to the game. |
