Awesome new Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles trailer
#1
We're finally starting to see more of this game, and it's looking better than I originally expected it to. Capcom has shown off a trailer at GC 07 of Resident Evil: UC in action, serving up plenty of bloody gameplay sequences to be seen.
It's worth a look - I might actually considering purchasing this one when it's released. Trailer is here. Thoughts? Interesting to see if the game is better than those other light-gun Resi games from the past... |

Same one as the one in the UC pictures thread?
If so, was much improved, looked great. Seemed to have frequent framerate drops though. Can't view it on this connection atm. |

[rant]
What the hell is going on with the dialog? * Lots of gunfire at the leech * * Leech then gather together to form a human shape * Rebecca then said "Is this thing human?" I mean WTF?? And what's up with the guy in the demo keep shooting at the limb and between the legs. [/rant] Anyway, this is new (to me and probably to anyone else). Oh and the font for the subtitle is pretty bad. I wish they use the usual font for that. The lack of pace in this game starts to worry me. |

It's like "is it fuckin human" no shit bitch, shut the fuck up -- shoot shit!!! You shouldn't have time to talk is where I'm getting at. the game seems so methodical. Which is something you don't want on a rail shooter. I still want my File 3, damn you capcom. |

It might just because this is a demo, but after the HotD games (which are the quintessential zombie shooter games, after all), there's not nearly enough zombies on the screen at a time, and they all move too slow. Otherwise, it looks great. Tighten that up and they should have a worthy purchase on their hands.

But again it doesn't matter because this is a RE game which is inherently slow and methodical. |

So, if all you get to do is shoot, the shooting had better cover up a whole lot of the gameplay, because otherwise you're waiting. |

In here, there's one seen gimmick to far (dodging). But if this is meant to be a rail shooter, you're supposed to be shooting a whole lot - because otherwise the enemy hits you, or you run out of time, or whatever. Slow, lumbering zombies in a rail shooter don't work when trying to convey a sense of threat unless there are impossibly huge numbers of them to gun down - the closest comparison would be HotD 4, but even then the zombies moved plenty fast. So, the court's in your ball. Explain how slow enemies work in a lightgun shooter. |

If you actually think Dead Aim looks better than RE:UC, you are considered legally blind in 17 of the 50 states.

![]() Nice, get the worst possible screen for comparison. I guess Dead Aim > RE4 too, right? |
