Awesome new Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles trailer #1

We're finally starting to see more of this game, and it's looking better than I originally expected it to. Capcom has shown off a trailer at GC 07 of Resident Evil: UC in action, serving up plenty of bloody gameplay sequences to be seen.

It's worth a look - I might actually considering purchasing this one when it's released.

Thoughts? Interesting to see if the game is better than those other light-gun Resi games from the past...

Same one as the one in the UC pictures thread?

If so, was much improved, looked great. Seemed to have frequent framerate drops though.

Can't view it on this connection atm.

And what's up with the guy in the demo keep shooting at the limb and between the legs.

Anyway, this is new (to me and probably to anyone else).

Oh and the font for the subtitle is pretty bad. I wish they use the usual font for that.

The lack of pace in this game starts to worry me.

Ugh, this game is horrible. The guns sounds horrible, the voices sound horrible, the enemies and environments look horrible, shit is just horrible...

Uhmm. This game is not so shit after all. It looks at least promising. It's more polished then before. But I'll wait for the reviews, because the gameplay doesn't convince me.

I liked the part where it's dark and you have to use the wiimote as a flashlight.

It might just because this is a demo, but after the HotD games (which are the quintessential zombie shooter games, after all), there's not nearly enough zombies on the screen at a time, and they all move too slow. Otherwise, it looks great. Tighten that up and they should have a worthy purchase on their hands.

This isn't Sega or HOTD. This is Capcom and Resident Evil. And if you haven't noticed, RE games have slow zombies with slow, creepy gameplay.

The zombies in RE can run though..I just reckon its Resident Evil..Resident Evil doesn't throw thousands upon thousands of zombies at you and I expect the same even from a lightgun game. Especially since its like a 5 hour lightgun game.

If you want next-gen graphics play the HD consoles. :-\

Besides, visuals in this game > 90% of wii games.

Says who? You? You don't have to like slow zombies in an on-rails game, but that doesn't mean slow zombies are bad.

Besides I don't get where this "rails games have to be fast paced" stuff comes from because all of my light gun games are about the same as this if not a little faster. But again it doesn't matter because this is a RE game which is inherently slow and methodical.

Yeeaahhh.... see, in a lightgun game - all you do is shoot. In here, you get to mix it up a little with dodging, apparently, but that doesn't really matter much if you're not in any danger from the zombies, huh?

So, if all you get to do is shoot, the shooting had better cover up a whole lot of the gameplay, because otherwise you're waiting.

Gameplay in lightgun games - shooting, unless there's a gimmick for the game such as the Time Crisis series. But that's secondary, and the point of the game is to shoot.

In here, there's one seen gimmick to far (dodging). But if this is meant to be a rail shooter, you're supposed to be shooting a whole lot - because otherwise the enemy hits you, or you run out of time, or whatever.

Slow, lumbering zombies in a rail shooter don't work when trying to convey a sense of threat unless there are impossibly huge numbers of them to gun down - the closest comparison would be HotD 4, but even then the zombies moved plenty fast.

So, the court's in your ball. Explain how slow enemies work in a lightgun shooter.
