Man it's cool how they have the superintendent trying to figure out what happened all within the context of it's purpose and the tools it has at it's disposal. I loved "MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH!" in particular.

I don't think Halo 3 was built with campaign DLC in mind, was it? How would a DLC release work if that was that case?
I'm really thinking this might be a retail only release. |

Any bets if we will see his face, or if he will be another hero with no face?

I've collected the official stuff in the OP, as well as a few of the more recent Halo 3 changes, for the heck of it.

If this launches with the Mythic Map pack, I don't see why you would expect this to be separate from halo 3 multiplayer. |

More excited for the new campaign than MP, Halo has always shone the most as an SP experience for me, especially with co-op in 3.

Add me for any and all future Gaf games if you need a player. I went through a spell there not playing (horrible shit went down :( )and was deleted by a few but it was definitely the most fun playing with the folks on here. So send me an invite if you want to. |

So, I just watched the trailer. I have to say, I'm of course a little disappointed to hear "Fall 2009", but otherwise that trailer is phenomenal. When the music kicks in near the end... well let's just say no other developer can stir me in ways like that.
Also, do you think we're getting a bit of a hint at the interaction between the Superintendent and the ODST at the end? The signs light up to read "KEEP RIGHT" and "PROCEED WITH CAUTION", almost as if the SI is trying to assist the ODST. |

So why did Luke and Shiska go to Japan? Was their job to transport the DVD that had this trailer, or will there be some more info coming?

Why did Microsoft decide to delay the Halo 3: Recon announcement for TGS?? Seems pointless after all that drama during E3.

Expectations: Exceeded. Haha, expectations, you shan't screw me again!
Mood/Atmosphere: Do want. More "343 Guilty Spark" and less "Outskirts" plz. SI as a guide: Do want. It adds character to the levels, and could be reminiscent of following 343 GS & Glados around. Silenced SMGs: Do want. Looks cool 'n shiz. MC Absence: Do want. The dude's cool and all, but I'm a little weary of the whole "I'm just renting your head and I can't really bond naturally with secondary characters because of it" thing. Speculated cover system: DO NOT WANT! Continue on course like you always have with your organic forms of "cover" (scenery objects, etc), I don't really want some contrived cover system. ODSTs: Do want. Snappy dressers and killer weaponry, etc. Now I'll kick my expectations to the bottom again and be pleasantly surprised whenever the next media surfaces. Begun the dehype, has. |

I wonder if SI talks verbally or just uses the environment in order to get his message across. It would be funny if the SI posted a gif on some billboard if you end up doing something stupid.

Indeed. I'm excited to see what they've come up with. I assume a lot of the battles are going to be a lot more close-quarters. Reminds me a little bit of the beginning of Outskirts in Halo 2, except darker and more focused on stealth. |

While I was taking a shit, I thought of a follow up concerning my "gif theory". I kind of hope the SI has a humorous side. With it being what I must assume is a machine, will it have that type of AI or will it be just a hum-drum-run-of-the-mill type of robot. Maybe some unintentional humor could be expected on it's part. I don't know, I'm just really curious about how it's all going to play out.

Exactly! Please make it happen Bungie.
![]() On a sad note, I really suck at this game now. It's such a piss off. Plus getting teabagged isn't helping. edit: Oh nice, I upped my looking speed and can do better. Fuck I forgot about all that! Last edited by got2bekidding : 10-09-2008 at 10:21 AM. |

Honestly, I can't see the maps getting released only as late as Fall 2009. I mean, they've shown off a near-complete Assembly, no? Also, why would the map achievements be in Halo 3 if the maps are going to be released with (the stand-alone game) Halo 3 Recon? It doesn't really make much sense.

"Halo: Blue" showed up on store databases for release this year, correct? If so, it may not be out of the bounds of reason to suggest Blue is one map-pack coming out this year, with the other maps coming out around Fall 2009.

Man I am glad I didn't stay awake for this. I was stoked about a DLC expansion pack for Halo 3, a new $60 game? No thanks.
Unless they do it like Crysis and make it $30, that would be nice. |

On a completely different note, I'm listening to the Halo 3 soundtrack right now (while doing a bit of work). I love it so much.
