Didnt know they published Nintendo Power but they do publish official Xbox magazine....maybe that was what you were thinking about...

i never was a big fan of how OPM was run, up until I'd say around its last year. Finally the writers started asking the hard questions, and putting some amazing articles up (Kojima cover article was brilliant, as was the 'most important people in the industry' article). I know it's an official magazine, but I don't want to be coddled with blind enthusiasm.

I hope that carries over to this new OPM, but I somehow doubt it.

I get the impression making money isn't high on their list of priorities, which is a bit worrisome. But I wish them all the best nonetheless. Glad someone's doing it. :)

I probably will subscribe blindly, just like NP since issue #1, but it's going to take a lot to fill the shoes of OPM, which really made you rethink what an "official" magazine was capable of criticizing.
Seriously, the redesign right before it ended was so awesome. :(

Future are stupid not to get into podcasting if they're not already. I would have podcasting experience as a desired role in any vacancy I listed.

It's a great medium for extending print awareness.

Oh, I am glad people get work, I have´t meet or know them, but is always great to hear professionals of this land in a interesting project, I know how hard it is. So best of lucks for them of course.

In Spain it didn´t worked that way. One editorial bought many Future licenses and adapted them for Spain, I worked a bit for Playstation Official and PSM. But at some point this editorial decided to not renew them. They keep doing the same right know, but their licenses are more spread. Future doesn´t have direct presence in Spain for what I know.

I don´t know how they work. But they keep on float Edge even if it´s not the most profitable magazine to produce for what I know, so that is good. Videogames magazine is a weird business and I wouldn´t claim an editorial is always the guilty one when something doen´t work.

And Future is losing money like Sony? Have you SEEN ZD's debt load? All through the 90's they spent money like they had it and they're paying the price now.

They are publishing Nintendo Power as of the next issue (Smash Bros. Brawl cover story I think).

Interesting how they get NP and OPM after recent redesigns.

OPM in the UK is really good. They have some great previews and get early reviews on some of the biggest games.
