More evidence surfacing that SO4 is on Xbox360 #1

http://www.find-job.net/fj/showjob.cgi?id=53969

There's a job listing for 3D modelers, designers and programmers to work on two projects for an unnamed game company. The games are "the latest entry in a famous fantasy RPG series" and "a new fantasy rpg". Both games are on the Xbox360 platform, and the general location of the work place is given as the Ooimachi area, which is where Tri-Ace's offices are located.

Discuss. :)

I thought it was already confirmed as a PS3 exclusive? Does SO even sell outside of Japan?

The "new fantasy RPG" (cough IU cough) is recruiting up to December 2007. The "latest entry in famous fantasy RPG series" is recruiting until May 2008. The timeline fits too well. :)

How would this be "the latest entry in a famous fantasy RPG series"?

I don't think Tri-Ace have the manpower/time to do a multiplatform next-gen RPG, especially with something as big as SO4.

(yes, I'm thinking its PS3 exclusive)

"More evidence" on the 360? There was no evidence to begin with. Actually, the hints aim at PS3.

So you are saying the game is not on the PS3 but on the xbox 360 only? Maybe tri-ace is making a whole new game for microsoft, since the evidence does not state SO4. You are jumping on things that are not there just like kotaku.

The biggest piece of news revealed is that the game will be exclusive to PlayStation 3.

Maybe Microsoft is funding a secret project with tri-ace? Then again, you are basing all of this on a job listing.

I don't know if this is true but you seem to be having trouble understanding the OP, there is job listings for 2 games, both for 360. One is listed as "latest entry in famous fantasy RPG series", which is what made him think of SO4. The other listing could be Infinite Undiscovery, which is tri-ace's project with Microsoft.

This is retarded. Rogers already said it was a PS3 game. duckroll is either making stuff up or mistranslating like he did with that Lost Odyssey story. Moving on...

yes - i`ll agree - but on the other hand, why should SE make star ocean remakes for psp, when the fourth installment hits the xbox360. coincidence?

and - xbox360 is deader than dead in japan - which is quite the first place for jrpgs after all.

i`ll doubt that SO4 will be exclusive to xbox360 - maybe multi-platform, but not exclusive and i think, we will see Infinte Discovery on ps3 in the long term. like whats already happen with the other excluusive jrpg on xbox360 - trusty bell.

Yeah, it's weird. It started out as a MS/Tri-Ace project. With no S-E involvement. Then somewhere along the line during development they decided to rope in S-E as the publisher, probably because they realized they were making a fucking mess of marketing their own JRPGs like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. So now it's developed by Tri-Ace, published by S-E but the copyright is S-E/Microsoft.

It's a private company, so for all intents and purposes its "independant". But I believe Enix (and now S-E) has a large stake in it.
