Obviously very high fidelity graphics, but the sprite art style is a little strange; the really thick black borders on the relatively low res sprites look a little offputting. Also, compared to the character sprites the backgrounds are very desaturated.

Character portrait art is gorgeous, though...

Eh... no, not really impressive technologically... typical SRPG... I'm just happy to see it, and of course the animation should be good.

Okay, because I'm not sure where these sudden "wow the game is look great" things are coming from. ^^;

I think art-wise it's pretty solid, just like ASH. But I'm getting the same cheap feel from the technical aspect of the graphics. It's cheap sprites + pre-rendered higher res art for everything else. The art itself is great (just like in ASH) but the actual application does leave much to be desired.

Oh well, if it plays as well as the other FE games, it'll be fine. I'm about 20 hours into ASH and loving every moment of it.

The only thing that really stands out to me as bad is those cheap looking rendered sprites. Looks like something straight out of a PC game from 1995 or so.

Wow, I guess this explains how IntSys had so many games in the works at once, I expect this to come out sooner then, like Q1 08 in JP. Hope we get it as well now. :\

People are used to subpar graphics for SRPGs. This looks great for the genre it's on. The GBA/GC games looked nice enough really.

I don't think the map/map sprites look as poor as those in ASH, though.

So Fire Emblem DS is a remake of FE1/3? Fucking awesome. Battle sprites look a bit iffy, but the portraits in the conversations look much better than in 7/8.

Marth's face looks a bit flat, but besides that it looks fine to me. Fire Emblem has never been a tour de force of the graphic variety.
