Either Collector's Edition got slammed by defect stories or MS hit the Hurley Lottery with the Legenedary Edition.

Ill be honest, for the biggest game for the 360 Halo 3 did not spike sales as much as I would have thought... the Wii wasn't far behind and this was MS using the big guns O.o
Then again same thing could happen with Wii when Brawl is released, where most people who want it have it already |

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 30k Wii within minutes of opening.

I expect NHL games to see a boost in Jan/Feb because of that. |

An impressive leap for the 360 and fantastic sales for Halo 3 but it would have been shocking if it hadn't been able to outsell the Wii or DS off the back of such a major title. I expect a similar bump for the NPD figures, but the interesting question here is how long this will be sustained and whether there is anything in the pipeline for the 360 that will help it do so.
